Green Halloween Once Halloween is over, give your compost a boost with your old pumpkins, the straw you used to build scarecrows and any other organic material for great, nutrient rich soil in the spring.

Give Your Herbs Shelter In late fall bring your summer herbs indoors. Enjoy fresh basil, mint, and rosemary through the winter months by bringing your herbs indoors. It takes a few weeks to transition herbs to indoor living, so start before the weather turns.

Waiting Lists

Volunteer Spotlight: CSBarks Dog Festival Love dogs? Sign up as a volunteer for our third annual CSBarks dog festival on Sept 18!. Over 500 dogs are expected to attend, and we need volunteers to help run games, supervise the off-leash and Rover Rest areas, take photos, or help with set up and take down.

Once the maximum enrollment is met for a class, a waiting list will be formed. We will create additional classes when feasible and you will be contacted. Credits will be processed after the first scheduled class.

Satisfaction Guaranteed! Our goal is your satisfaction! If you are not completely satisfied with any Carol Stream Park District program, class or event, please tell us! We will work to earn your satisfaction. If you are still not completely satisfied, we will transfer your registration to another program or session, or issue you a refund - that’s our guarantee!

Got a group? Volunteer opportunities are also available before and after the event with set up and break down. If you are interested in gaining hands on experience in event planning and recreation or meeting new people and having fun call Kelly at 630-784-6107 or email info@csparks.org. Can’t attend CSBarks this year? Other volunteer opportunities include: Sports Volunteers Without a solid volunteer base, hundreds of local children would miss out on the experience of playing on a league team for soccer, baseball, softball and basketball. Please consider giving some time to the children of the community. Event Volunteers Help is always needed at our community events. General duties and responsibilities include: Assisting staff with set up, running activity stations, serving refreshments and clean up. As a volunteer you can make your own schedule! The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of a disability. The park district will make reasonable accommodations in recreation programs to enable participation by an individual with a disability that meets essential eligibility requirements for that leisure program and facilities. If you have questions or believe you have been unfairly discriminated against by the park district, please call (630) 784-6100. Those who use the Telecommunications Device for the Deaf may reach the park district by calling (800) 526-0844.

WDSRA also offers inclusion services for those wishing to participate in regular park district programs but may need assistance. Inclusion is designed to provide the least restrictive environment while providing the maximum opportunity to participate in a program. There is no charge for WDSRA’s support. If you would like assistance, please indicate that special accommodations are needed on the park district registration form. If you have questions, contact WDSRA at 630-681-0962. Two-week advance notice is requested for inclusion support.

I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ ward may have (or accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in these programs against the Carol Stream Park District, including its officials, agents, volunteers and employees. I have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk and waiver and release of all claims. If registering on-line or via fax, my on-line or facsimile signature shall substitute for and have the same legal effect as an original form signature.
