Ji-Li has a black background. Her grandfather was a landlord. Now she has a proletariat working for her, cleaning up her mess, getting her food and doing all of the work that her family should be doing. Poor Song Po-Po doesn't have a clue that the Jiangs are just using her. One day the Jiangs will throw her out and find someone cheaper to work for them. Ji-Li will never become a Red Guard and she will never be better than anyone else because of her black background. She thinks she is helping everyone but really she is as vicious as her grandfather. At school she acts like she is the smartest kid at school. She probably bribe all the teachers to give her better grades. She always gets the main parts she is always the one who is picked to help the teachers pass out the work and help them with the students. An Yi her best friend also has special treatment and her mother is a teacher. Plus her grandmother just committed suicide.

姬麗革命 I am lucky and intelligent I wonder if my faith will ever take another path I hear skinny face telling me to change my future I see me dad working hard hours in the factory I want to take part in the cultural revolution I am lucky and intelligent I pretend I am come from a red background I feel like my faith will never change I touch the silky red band that wraps in my arm I worry that my dad will never come back I cry because of my black background I am lucky and intelligent I understand I have a choice I say I will become a child of Mao I dream that they will forget about my landlord grandfather I try to stay with my family and become a educable child I hope that my faith will change I am lucky and intelligent

I am 13 years old and I go to Gulliver Academy. I am in the drama and dance programs which i enjoy very much. in this book i wrote about how the Red Scarf Girl reflected and changed my opinions. The Book shows you how propaganda can affect someones opinion. The red Guards influenced a lot of other teenagers to follow them. young children can be very easily brainwashed. This book was somewhat interesting. It warned me to be careful so no one or propaganda can brainwash me.
