Welcome! On behalf of the Tepper School of Business and Carnegie Mellon University, we cordially invite you to the 2012 Business Opportunities Conference (BOC). As a student of Carnegie Mellon University, you are among one of the nation’s most qualified candidates. The role of the BOC is to provide you with a platform to connect with recruiters and show them why you would be great assets to their company. The BOC strives to be Carnegie Mellon’s most professional and rewarding student-organized career event. By broadening the appeal of the BOC to include students from a variety of backgrounds, we hope to create an experience which is rewarding to both students and recruiters. As this year’s BOC Co-Chairs, we want to provide you with the best environment to talk to some of the nation’s top companies. About BOC For twenty five years, the Carnegie Mellon University Business Opportunities Conference has provided recruiters the opportunity to meet some of the brightest students from around the world. This studentrun event is designed to facilitate your recruiters’ first step in developing strong connections with talented individuals leading today’s market.

Tepper School of Business In 2004, David A. Tepper gave the Graduate School of Industrial Administration a gift of $55 million--the largest private donation to any business school in America. The Tepper School of Business is annually recognized as one of the top schools in the nation, according to US News College Rankings. It holds the country’s most elite programs in Finance, Quantitative Analysis, Production and Operations Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems. Our academic curriculum is rigorous, training students to think analytically, and is also enriched with aspects of management and liberal arts.

Undergraduate Business Administration Program Students who graduate from the undergraduate business program are armed with a solid foundation in management or a business concentration. The program emphasizes mathematical analysis, problem-solving skills and information technology. Business Administration alumni report that they find themselves “up and running� very rapidly, and attribute their success to the undergraduate courses they took here.

TIMELINE OF EVENTS Senior Networking Reception - Wednesday, September 12 All recruiters are encouraged to attend the Senior Networking Reception on the evening of Wednesday, September 12. Make a more personalized impression on our graduation seniors at this informal event, as you discuss your business over hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

Business Opportunities Conference - Thursday, September 13 The BOC will take place on Thursday, September 13. FDIC is a U.S. government corporation operating as an independent agency, formed in 1933. It was formed to maintain public confidence and help stabilize the financial system through sound banking practices. Today, it provides deposit insurance which guarantees the safety of deposits in its member banks, supervises financial institutions, and performs consumerprotection functions.

Ascend Analytics is a software development company providing portfolio and risk management solutions for the energy industry.
