WELCOME This will be The Electric Theatre’s 7th February Family Festival which is specifically targeted at families with children aged 8 and under. Theatre staff work hard all year round to ensure that the very best of children’s theatre can be offered to local audiences at an affordable price. The festival pledge is that no ticket will be over £6.50 (and this includes the booking fee) and many activities are considerably less, or completely free. Free activities for children and families to enjoy include a colouring corner and art wall, hunt the animals game and a big basket of books and puzzles in the café bar. We hope you enjoy our Festival and we look forward to welcoming you to our Theatre.

CAFÉ BAR down by the riverside Our Café has a cosy bar, dining space, riverside terrace and free Wi-Fi. This year you are welcome to bring in your own food to eat in our Cafe Bar. We are not currently serving food but we will still be serving yummy cakes and drinks for you to enjoy. With additional activities like colouring in and a basket of children’s books, our café is a great place for families in central Guildford. We’ve also got some brand new high chairs this year, based on your feedback from last year’s Festival. 2

Danny has ordered a storytelling kit which ahs arrived in a crate. The crate contains the props Danny will need to tell the story of the Three Little Pigs...or does it? Danny tries against the odds to enact the story without making a pig’s ear of it. He will blow you away through physical comedy, circus skills and lots of huffing and puffing! By the hairs on your chinny chin chin you will be howling with laughter at this higgledy piggledy pigs tale.

Wednesday 19 February THE MAN IN THE MOON
PLAY IN A DAY A special one day course which gives children the chance to perform on the stage of a real theatre. The workshop will be based on Please Mrs Butler, the popular collection of poems by Allan Ahlberg. They will spend the day rehearsing the show and will perform what they've learned on our stage at the end of the day. Taught by our resident youth theatre, The Man In The Moon, this is the perfect taster day for budding young actors.

TABLET ART WORKSHOP For all those artists out there interested in digital art, this is your chance to try drawing and painting using a variety of tablets including iPads and hudls. Come and learn how to create amazing images with Paul Clarke. No experience is necessary. All devices will be supplied although you are welcome to bring your own.

This is a simple story of two boys who arrive at the same place at the same time and they don't understand what they should do. They do not speak the same language and they do not understand each other's signals. One of them likes to play by the rules, the other doesn't have any!! They must learn how to communicate with each other so that they can play together. Developed with funding from Ealain na Gaeltachta under Scéim Forbartha na nEalaíon 2011, Foras na Gaeilge and Galway City & County Councils. Kindly supported by Culture Ireland.

THE STORY BOX A wonderfully vibrant show, full of puppets, fun and surprises. The story brings to life three tales from around the world, each in its own way reminding young and old alike of the joy of reading and sharing stories. The morning's relaxed performance will be suitable for children with attention and communication difficulties. We have produced a visual story for this production which aims to help children with autism, communication difficulties and other learning disabilities access and understand their experience at the theatre. THE ENCHANTED CASTLE WORKSHOP In a magical fairytale castle lives a friendly but forgetful wizard called Norbert. He’s quite sure that his enchanted castle is home to lots of other people but he’s so old he can’t remember who! This action packed workshop takes children on a magical mystery tour around his castle, looking and listening for clues and discovering some well-known fairytale characters along the way. Full of imagination, laughter and surprises, Openbox Theatre will take you on a fairytale adventure to remember! KIDS DISCO PARTY A great big kids disco party for the whole family to enjoy. We will have a professional DJ, exciting disco lights and all your favourite pop music - just like a proper grown up disco. Put on your party gear and join us for the ultimate disco party. There will be juice and biscuits on hand as well as a disco dancing competition (there’ll even be one for the grown ups too!).

PARKING
Parking at The Electric Theatre is strictly for disabled patrons, but Bedford Road Car Park is only a few minutes walk away on Onslow Street. Parking is ÂŁ1.20 an hour during the day. Make sure you arrive in good time for performances as the car parks can get very busy. During the Family Festival week we have a Buggy Park space available in the Theatre foyer.
