LETTER FROM THE MEDIA TEAM
4
Dear Delegates, By now you have already gained an insight into the world of EYP. We worked hard to ensure that you will never forget Ljubljana 2016 - 2nd Regional Session of Slovenia. This newspaper, the pictures and the videos are meant to be memories that you can hold on to, even when the Session has ended (btw. all of them can be found on the facebook page of the Session). We aimed at entertaining you through a lot of games, music and energisers, hope you enjoyed it. Every EYP Session is unique, so none of us knew what to expect when arriving in Ljubljana. Caro spent the night before the Session in Serbia, Jannis forgot most of his camera equipment at home, Roberta was working three nightshifts in a row before the Session, Veronika was already tired after her 17 hour journey, Laura was amased by the Dragon bridge and last but not least Urska was enjoying a burek. Our first meeting and the development throughout the Session taught us, that even though we did not know each other before, we grew together as a team really quickly and tried to create the best output possible. In the end this team spirit is exactly what EYP is all about. We are hoping that you will continue your journey in EYP and that it gives you everything you are looking for. Your Media Team

An Interview with the Board Experiences, Impressions and Advice
What does EYP mean to you: Sanja: Pushing my limits and broadening horizons. Michael: EYP is great on a lot of levels, it is whatever you want it to be. It is finding new friends and meeting old ones. Tarik: EYP is a super platform for meeting the most amazing people in Europe and doing great things together.
Describe your experience of Ljubljana so far? Sanja: Loud, exciting and full of laughter.
What was your first session and what is the thing you remember most about it? Sanja: It was a National Session in Zagreb in 2009. The thing I remember most about it is how welcoming everyone was and how easy it was to connect with perfect strangers in such a short time. I especially liked that the Officials Team treated Delegates as equals, there was no division between those two groups during evening events and everyone was just having fun together. Michael: My first Session was the Regional Session in Melk 2014, what I remember most is Alele, because it showed the really weird side of EYP and that is the best side. Tarik: A Regional Session in Sarajevo and I was a Chair.
Michael: Rainy. Tarik: Rainy and fun.

What would you change about EYP? Sanja: Post-EYP depression. Michael: I would change the typical hierarchy, the strict President, VicePresident and Chair structur. EYP would benefit from a much more flowing structur.
What was your most embarassing EYP moment? Sanja: I was vice-presiding a Session and at the beginning of General Assembly (during the first resolution to be specific) I managed to spill a huge cup of coffee (around half a liter) all over the board table. The coffee ruined our resolution booklets and the flag of EYP Czech Republic which served as a tablecloth and which was meant to be signed by the Session‘s Officials and given as a gift to the Session‘s President at the end of the day. In the end, we signed it anyway, but the stain is still there. Thankfully, the Delegates did not realise all the confusion that I created but it was really embarassing. Michael: Being totally blank at GA to the point where I was just stopping in the middle of the sentence and sitting down again. Tarik: When I got bashed by a native speaker in Luxembourg.

Tarik: I would change the rule imposed by the Governing Body, that says that you need to have an evaluation of a President who has chaired at an International Session before in order to to chair at an International Session itself.
Any message for the delegates? Sanja: Keep up the good work! And stay hydrated. Michael: Take this opportunity, you won’t have that kind of experience too many times – concentrate on this one. Tarik: Keep up with EYP since being a Delegate is not the coolest position in EYP. Seek towards to vertical development.

Among many abbreviations going around in the EYP (see, there it is again!), PED is not the one you are looking forward to. Let us explain it to you briefly – PED is an inevitable disease that threatens everybody from the time when they first enter the EYP and ends... well, to be honest, never. The definition: Post-EYP Depression. I think you already get the concept. You meet new people, you have fun with them for a minimum of 1 day, sometimes up to 10, you are emerged in a completely different world in that period, and then reality strikes you. Suddenly, you are in your own bed instead of being in the hostel with completely random people you saw for the first time in your life, your mo-

ther is making you a nice, tasty breakfast instead of you eating croissants or sandwiches for every meal ever, you return to your daily obligations like school, college etc. Still, you miss all the fuss. You miss those random people. You miss the strange liquid they call coffee. And God, do you miss spending time with your new friends, doing funny games, discussing important topics. You lie in your bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering why this is happening to you. What did you do to have had this burden put on your back? How do you get rid of this‌ this PED monster? Is there a medicine? Do you need to see a doctor for this emotional rollercoaster? Worry no more! We have the perfect recipe for you! Excited yet?

HOW TO CONTINUE
EYP does not only consist of Regional Sessions that you just experienced. We have many more.
One level above the Regional Session is the National Session of the National Committee, which is held at least once a year. This is a bigger event with even more amazing people participating and - wait for it - more days! The concept is the same – TB, CW and GA (more abbreviations right here), but with a bit more of everything. After having participated in a Regional Session, you can apply as a Delegate, but you can also apply to be a part of the Officials‘ Team. Trust us – you want to experience all of these! At your National Session you can be selcted for an International Session. This event lasts for 10 days and is held three times a year somewhere in Europe. If you get there, wow, what an amazing experience
13
you will have! As many as 400 people participate and everything is highly academic, but also a lot of fun, like the EYP itself. After that, all the doors are widely open for you! Finally, apart from International Sessions, we also organise International Forums. This can be organised by any National Committee and is something between a National and an International Session. Usually it lasts 5 to 6 days, is also highly academic, but also very fun! You can gain your EYP experience in any of the events we explained. What is great about the EYP is its inclusiveness and an all-around welcoming spirit, so you can be sure you will get an opportunity to grow as an EYPer, but also important, as a person.
