Note From The President! "

!

Hello Members!" " Well, 2014 is officially underway! RESA has had quite a busy and productive month, and we’re not slowing down anytime soon!" " We had a blast at the January social and got to see some fabulous White Elephant gifts opened up. A big thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who helped out with the Quarterly Airman’s Birthday Dinner, Deployed Families Dinner and our Thrift Shop this month. RESA is able to do what we do best because of YOU!" " If you have been in the RESA Thrift Shop lately, you have probably noticed there’s a bit of construction going on. A new wall is being erected in between us and the Med Group next door. Shelving units were moved to make room for scaffolding, so we’re a bit more crammed than usual, but nothing we can’t deal with! Construction is set to continue through March, so there may be a little more dust and noise in there for the next few months, but when it’s done it will look great! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to clear the shelves the night before construction started. A HUGE special thank you also goes out to Fatima Avila and Meredith VanMeeteren who spent an entire day in the Thrift Shop with me putting items back on the shelves and rearranging the space to accommodate the construction." " Looking into the future, I hope to see everyone at our February social, where we’ll be playing International Bingo with some fabulous prizes from all over the world! We will also have Command CMSgt Morris and General Mordente with us that night to discuss the current military drawdown and the impact it has on us as military spouses and families. They will answer any questions you might have regarding the situation. We are so very thankful that they is willing to volunteer their time to speak to RESA on such an important matter - the more informed we are, the more prepared we can be." " Save the date for our next social, which will take place on March 20 at Vogelweh Bowling Alley. This social will also be a membership drive, so keep your eyes and ears open for more information!" " Thank you for ALL you do for RESA. I look forward to another successful month!" " Sincerely," Nicole"

January Social

Secret Pals At our January social, members were given the opportunity to participate in RESA’s Secret Pal program. For those that have a “Secret Pal,” there will be a table set up at the February social to place your gift on. Please have it labeled with your Secret Pals’ name and be creative in ‘sneaking’ it into the room!" 3

Volunteer Corner We here at RESA have always valued our volunteers. Aside from the regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly events noted in the calendar, we would love to hear from our membership of any local organizations or events in which RESA can participate. Contact any member of the board at the next social or send an email to resa.vice@gmail.com for further discussion.
