Carus hat 2022 allen Grund zum Feiern: Die Gründung unseres Verlages jährt sich zum 50. Mal. Dass wir kurz vor dem Jubiläum weltweit Einschränkungen in Kauf nehmen müssen, hat niemand ahnen können. Umso mehr bin ich erfreut, Ihnen trotz herausfordernder Umstände für uns als Chormusikverlag eine Vielfalt an Neuerscheinungen für das erste Halbjahr 2022 präsentieren zu können.

Mit jedem Monat, in dem uns die Pandemie in Schach hält, wächst die Nachfrage nach unkompliziertem dreistimmigem Repertoire. Für diesen Bedarf lege ich Ihnen den zweiten Band des Chorbuch a tre ans Herz. Er ist ökumenisch angelegt und verspricht neue Impulse für das Singen im Gottesdienst. Dem Interesse an flexiblen und kleineren Besetzungen begegnen wir auch mit der Reihe Große Werke in kleiner Besetzung. Als Neuerscheinung wird Mendelssohns Paulus mit reduzierter Anzahl der Bläserstimmen eine praktikable wie auch musikalisch ansprechende Alternative zur Original-Besetzung sein. Spitzenchören schenken wir zum Verlagsjubiläum zwei herausragende Werke der spätromantischen Chormusik: Elgars The Dream of Gerontius und Schönbergs Friede auf Erden erweitern unseren Urtext-Katalog. Damit gibt es für Elgars abendfüllendes Werk endlich eine moderne Edition, die die Reprint-Ausgaben ablösen wird.

Sukzessive bauen wir unser Angebot an digitalen Notenausgaben aus. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn Sie mit uns diesen neuen, von Chorleiterinnen und Chorsängern vielfach nachgefragten Vertriebsweg ausbauen. Alle Infos finden Sie auf S. 26.

Viel Freude beim Stöbern in unserem Frühjahrsprogramm! In 2022 Carus has every reason to celebrate – the 50th anniversary of the founding of our publishing house. Nobody could have imagined that we would have to accept restrictions worldwide shortly before our anniversary. So I am all the more delighted to be able to present you with a wide variety of new publications for the first half year 2022, despite all the challenging circumstances for us as publishers of choral music. We are also responding to the growing interest in flexible and smaller scorings due the pandemic e.g. with our series Great choral works in small scorings. One of our new publications, Mendelssohn’s St Paul, with reduced wind and brass instruments, is a practical and musically attractive alternative to the original scoring. For top choirs, to mark our anniversary we offer two outstanding choral music works from the late Romantic period: Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius and Schönberg’s Friede auf Erden are major additions to our catalog of Urtext editions. This means that there is finally a modern edition of Elgar’s full-length work which will supersede the reprint editions. We are gradually expanding our range of digital music editions. We would be delighted if you would join us in promoting this new way of publishing, very popular with directors and choral singers. You can find all the information about this on p. 26.
