12 << Redacción Tu CASA Magazine Daniela Zubia cumplió su sueño de formar parte del equipo de animación, o cheerleaders, de los Denver Broncos. Hace poco más de tres años Daniela vino a Colorado de vacaciones con sus padres. Estando aquí tuvo la oportunidad de visitar el Empower Field con motivo del evento Denver Broncos en español. “Vi a dos de las cheerleaders, Annie y Ángela. Como del alma me salió decirles que quiero ser como tú. Entonces, para mi sorpresa, Ángela me dio una sonrisa muy bonita y me dijo, ‘si es tu sueño, persíguelo. Inscríbete en las audiciones’”, contó Daniela. Ese deseo de Daniela no surgió aquella tarde. Desde muy pequeña a esta chihuahuense le apasionaba bailar y practicar la gimnasia. “Me gustaba bailar aun cuando nunca tomé clases porque estaba desde muy niña concentrada en la gimnasia. A medida que fui creciendo yo veía el trabajo de las porristas por la televisión y luego por los videos de YouTube. Me gustaba ver como bailaban”, recordó. Ella se convirtió en porrista de los tres equipos profesionales de Monterrey: Fuerza Regia (baloncesto); Sultanes (Béisbol) y Rayados (Fútbol). Esta experiencia previa de Daniela le ayudó a destacar. Pero, Daniela tuvo que participar en dos audiciones de los Denver Broncos. En la segunda oportunidad logró quedar entre las 50 precalifi cadas y de allí quedó incluida en la selección fi nal. “Mientras tú creas en ti misma, en tu fortaleza, en tu poder para alcanzar ese sueño, vas a lograr lo que te propongas. Tracé mi sueño desde niña, pero el encontrarme a Ángela me dio fuerza. Regresé a mi país para seguir trabajando y formándome hasta que llegó mi oportunidad”, compartió la cheerleader.

Bendecida y orgullosa

Daniela es ahora la primera mexicana y chihuahuense en formar parte de los Denver Broncos. “Me siento bendecida, feliz y orgullosa por esta gran oportunidad que se me ha dado. Para mi personalmente es algo único y especial. A veces es muy difícil soñar en grande. Nosotros mismos nos ponemos obstáculos. Yo estoy aquí portando este bonito uniforme y formando parte de esta gran familia de Broncos. Con el equipo comparto valores que aprendí en mi familia y en mi país: trabajamos duro y tenemos energía positiva”, concluyó Daniela. Daniela Zubia fulfi lled her dream of being a cheerleader of the Denver Broncos. A little over three years ago, Daniela came to Colorado on vacation with her parents. While here, she had the opportunity to visit Empower Field for the Denver Broncos event in Spanish. “I saw two of the cheerleaders, Annie, and Angela, and wanted to be like them. Then, to my surprise, Angela gave me a very nice smile and said, ‘If it’s your dream, go after it. Sign up for the auditions,’” Daniela said. This desire of Daniela did not exclusively arise that afternoon. From a very young age, this Chihuahuan was passionate about dancing and practicing gymnastics. “I liked to dance even though I never took classes because I was focused on gymnastics from a very young age. As I got older, I watched cheerleading work on TV and later YouTube videos. I liked to see how they danced,” she recalled. She became a cheerleader for Monterrey’s three professional teams: Fuerza Regia (basketball), Sultanes (Baseball), and Rayados (Soccer). This previous experience helped her stand out. But Daniela had to participate in two auditions for the Denver Broncos. In the second instance, she managed to be among the 50 prequalifi ed and from there she was included in the fi nal selection. “As long as you believe in yourself, in your strength, in your power to achieve that dream, you will achieve what you set out to do. I followed my dream since I was a child, but meeting Angela gave me strength. I returned to my country to continue working and training until my opportunity came,” shared the cheerleader. Blessed and Proud Daniela is now the fi rst Mexican and Chihuahuan to be part of the Denver Broncos. “I feel blessed, happy, and proud for this great opportunity that has been given to me. For me personally it is something unique and special. Sometimes it is very diffi cult to dream big. We put obstacles in our way. I am here wearing this beautiful uniform and being part of this great family of Broncos. With this team, I share values that I learned in my family and in my country: we work hard, and we have positive energy,” concluded Daniela. >> 16

Preguntas y respuestas ¿Cuál consejo le das a otras chicas que aspiren ser cheerleaders? Daniela Zubia: Que se atrevan…Yo les comparto, que tuve mucho miedo. Pero no dejen que el miedo les se convierta en un obstáculo para perseguir sus sueños. Les digo que el trabajo duro es lo que te va a llevar a lograr tu sueño día a día. ¿Qué sentiste al salir al campo ante más de 75000 fanáticos en el primer juego de Broncos en casa? DZ: Fue un sueño hecho realidad el estar ahí y ver todo el estadio pintado de naranja y escuchar a los fanáticos. Jamás había sentido en toda mi vida la energía que ese público transmite cuando estás en el campo. Fue de las mejores experiencias de mi vida y la pude compartir con mis padres que vinieron al partido.

Los Denver Broncos son el primer equipo de la NFL que abre actividades en México. Estas actividades forman parte del programa “The International Home Marketing Área”, que busca la internacionalización de la liga. “Los Denver Broncos fuimos de los primeros en jugar en México, tenemos una presencia de más de 20 años aquí y una base fi el de afi cionados con los que estaremos más cerca”, dijo Brittany Bowlen, vicepresidenta del equipo, durante su visita al país vecino. Questions and Answers What advice do you give to other girls who aspire to be cheerleaders? Daniela Zubia: That they dare… I share with you that I was very afraid. But don’t let fear get in the way of pursuing your dreams. I tell them that hard work is what will lead you to achieve your dream day by day. How did you feel walking out on the fi eld in front of over 75,000 fans at the fi rst Broncos home game? DZ: It was a dream come true to be there and see the whole stadium painted orange and listen to the fans. I had never felt in all my life the energy that this public transmits when you are on the fi eld. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I was able to share it with my parents who came to the game.

Mexico, Broncos Country The Denver Broncos is the fi rst NFL team to open activities in Mexico. These activities are part of “The International Home Marketing Area” program, which seeks to internationalize the league. “The Denver Broncos were among the fi rst to play in Mexico, we have a presence of more than 20 years here and a loyal fan base with whom we will be closer,” said Brittany Bowlen, vice president of the team, during her visit to the neighboring country.
