Cascade Christian Junior High

Welcome to Junior High! This is an exciting and changing time in your student’s life. At Cascade Christian Junior High we know and understand the changes young adolescents are going through, and have created a safe, positive Christian environment that allows them to experience these changes with an understanding, compassionate, caring, and godly faculty and staff. We love Junior High students! And we have designed our classes, curriculum, chapels, and activities to meet their current academic, social, physical, and spiritual needs while growing up in a 21st Century culture.

In Christ,

Michele Suiter

Junior High Principal

Why Choose CCJH? 1.

Our teachers are fantastic! They love JH students, and they love their subject. They are also well qualified. (In fact, our math teachers all have their undergraduate and teaching credentials in math.) 2. We have a strong plan for your child’s education. Each student has an Educational Roadmap guiding them to their goals. We do data protocol and goal setting, and we do Accelerated Math (based on MAP scores). Our 8th graders are discussing college goals, and we have conversations with our students about being well rounded. When students have the desire to be college ready, we prepare them to take honors classes and high school AP classes. 3. Spiritual Formation is part of our guiding principles. We have the ability to discern the world’s culture and address specific challenges through a biblical worldview. We plan for discipleship opportunities, and students attend weekly chapel. Students participate in Impact Term, which teaches them both how to serve and how to lead. In addition, our spiritual theme provides focus for spiritual training each year. 4. Advisory groups are an integral part of the day. Each student has an advisor that tracks them and their progress in all areas. Differentiation is possible through each student’s guidance and interaction with their advisor. Relationships are formed as the students spend time together in their advisory group, and Advisory provides a time for strengths discussion and training. 5. Students receive Strengths training. We desire that students to operate and lead in their strengths, and we train for it. Student strengths are implemented during goal setting, and

Strengths are visited during team activities in order to make the teams stronger and more effective. 6. Project Lead the Way is part of our curriculum. This program gives the students the opportunity to experience project based learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. Classes include robotics, medical detectives, modeling and design (3D printer) air and flight (rocketry). 7. We have a yearly Connect Retreat. This September event creates the community called CCJH. The retreat is part of the process. The retreat is designed to help each student develop a sense of belonging, and to be known and valued. This connection also builds through advisory program throughout the year. 8. Athletics opportunities abound. We offer a full spectrum of athletic opportunities! They are part of what meets the needs of the whole child and addresses what is important to them. We desire to give them as many opportunities as possible to follow their passion - or find a new one. 9. Arts help students explore or find new passions. Choir or band are required for all JH students. Exploring the arts potentially gives students the chance to find a life-long love in the areas of music, drama, or visual arts. 10. Leadership training is part of the CCS mission as well as a core value. At CCJH, specific leadership training happens in Bible class. Leadership electives are also available. Leadership students promote school spirit, through being on the pep assembly team and ASB preparatory.

From a CCJH Parent:

“My husband and I are so grateful and impressed by the atmosphere of “family” that is cultivated and expressed at Cascade Christian Junior High. It’s an incredible gift to know that our son, is intentionally loved, challenged, and discipled by the entire CCJH faculty and staff. There is no place we’d rather have him than at CCS. Best of all, he is loving school...something you don’t always hear from a junior high student! We are deeply thankful for CCJH, a tangible demonstration of God’s grace in our son’s life!”
