DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM PUZZLES AND HOW THE INDIVIDUALIZED PIECES WORK TOGETHER AS A WHOLE, I PLAYED AROUND WITH HOW A PAIR OF STOOLS COULD MIMIC THE CONNECTION THROUGH FORM. MY SOLUTION WAS CREATING TWO DIFFERENTLY UNIQUE PARTS BY USING THE ONES SPARE PIECES CREATING A VISUALLY DYNAMIC SET OF STOOLS.

INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIO COMPILED WITH INTERIOR, ARCHITECTURE, AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS,

CREATIVELY WORKING TOGETHER TO

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT A PAVILION FOR IOWA CITY’S SECOND ANNUAL FLYOVER FASHION FEST,

MAY 2017. WE’VE EXPLORED AND RESEARCHED PAVILIONS AND

FASHION WHILE LOOKING AT NEW EVOLVING TECHNIQUES IN WHICH FASHION IS INFUSED IN THE DIGITAL WORLD. WITH

THROUGH EXPLORATION WE’VE EXPERIMENTED

3-D PRINTING, WIRE BENDING, CNC FABRICATION, AND ARDUINO

INSPIRED BY THE ACTIVIST AND CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS CASTING PRESENCE AND PROMOTING SELF AWARENESS AND ACCEPTANCE AT

IOWA CITY’S FLY OVER

FASHION FEST WE PRESENT IMRU. IMRU ASKS THE QUESTION , “I AM YOU?”

ARE

THIS SHORT QUESTION IS POWERFUL IN ITS SIMPLICITY. WHO WE BELIEVE

TO BE IN THE WORLD COMES IN MANY ALTERED VERSIONS BY HOW WE AND OTHERS PERCEIVE US.

THE IMAGE WE CREATE OF OURSELVES AND WHAT WE

BELIEVE WE EXPRESS TO THE WORLD IS VIEWED IN OTHER PERSPECTIVES BY LOVED ONES AND EVEN MORE BY STRANGERS. IT’S ACCEPTING OUR OWN FRAME OF MIND OF WHO WE ARE AND THE IMPACTS WE LEAVE THAT MATTERS AS A WHOLE.

SO THE QUESTION IMRU? THAT’S FOR YOU TO ANSWER.

I AM present ARE YOU? I AM living my truth ARE YOU? I AM who I am ARE YOU?

KELLY WEARSTLER

As an intern at Kelly Wearstler I worked closely with the lighting designer to help develop a new

line from concept to presentation, worked on presentation renderings, and layouts for a retail

shop. Working in a new state, city, community helped me to grow as a designer through many

WATERFORD ASSISTED LIVING

As a certified nurses aide at the Waterford I gained another perspective on life and the value of

the world around us. Skills I've learned through my experience include communication, precision,

and time management.

CERTIFIED NURSES AIDE INTERIOR DESIGN GROUP

At IDG I worked a lot with the fabric library in which I worked on my organizational skills while

getting to know the fabrics and materials available. Calling for order inquiries and speaking with

With Children’s Miracle Network I was able to interact with people from all walks of life, whether
