The Wet Tropics Management Authority has received an application from the Cassowary Coast Regional Council for the rezoning of land in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area under s.9 of the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998. The application is to accommodate essential community services infrastructure, being the construction of a new water supply reservoir. The proposed location for the reservoir is off Intake Road, Bulgun on Lot 66 NPW890, Tully Gorge National Park. The Authority considers it has the information necessary to properly consider the application, following receipt of details of the proposal from the Council, including a copy of the project environmental impact assessment.
