No Manual? 10 The Incredible Black one What is it that really makes us tick? I mean really? Is it the pursuit of cash? Or big, hairy audacious goals? (And, let's face it , we're already a couple of weeks into 2016 & how many of you have actually managed to stick to whatever you resolved to do better?) That's why, in our office, we're writing things BIG on our walls. We have every member of staff's dreams displayed, so we can all remember what we want to achieve this year & encourage each other to actually do it! Last year we tried a new venture "SOCKtober". We collected over 260 socks and then stuffed them with toys and gifts for children in the Noordsberg Community. Here we are above delivering them on Christmas Day! And, you know what? That's what makes us tick. Engineering excellence, on time, with joy! This was a different sort of engineering project for us but seeing the joy on their faces & feeling it transfer to us was amazing! We don't always get it right but that's what we're aiming for throughout 2016!

Even though the economy is not looking great, we are excited and looking forward to our 20th year of developing. We are leaders in bottle feed equipment and change parts and work closely with SAB, ABI & Nampak to name but a few, to make their operations run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Over the last three years, our quick release change parts have improved time efficiency by up to 80% and we work closely with the engineers & controllers to develop them exactly what they need. www.nyloncc.co.za
Thrive! As we welcome in another new year we also welcome new staff & new ideas.
Continuously moving forward means continuously changing & that's not always easy, but, we have some brilliant new designs for the year & a fantastic team to implement them.
We look forward to working with you again in

80%
OF SOUTH AFRICANS SAY THEY ARE CHRISTIANS 2001 CENUSUL.
50%
OF PEOPLE LIE ON THEIR JOB APPLICATIONS
TAKING OVER KZN
Introducing Paul Van de Merwe- our new Sales manager- on the road and on fire for God! The last census that asked about beliefs was in 2001, where a massive 80% of South Africans said that they, like Paul were Christian. That being so, 50% of people asked also said that they had lied on their resume, meaning that at least 30% of the Christians lied too! So what is it that makes Paul any different? "I'll tell you anything about me, the good and the bad" said Paul when we spoke to him. He is certainly very open and his great reputation goes before him, so let us know what you think! Paul achieved his childhood dream of being a policeman early in life, a career he pursued for 17 years. He later ran an outreach project, "Bibles 4 Africa" with his wife, delivering bibles to those how had none and now, comes to us from BMG, the Bearing Man Group, where he worked as a product manager. Paul loves fishing and is a passionate and experienced biker. "Men of good character can be hard to come by, so we are genuinely excited to have him as part of our team and delighted that he is a man of God." said the Pieterse brothers who own NCC .

Success v. Integrity If I could teach only one value to live by, it would be this: Success will come and go, but integrity is forever. Integrity means doing the right thing, not just when no one is watching, but at all times and in all circumstances. It takes, sometimes huge amounts of courage to do the right thing, no matter what the consequences will be, but it IS worth doing. Building a reputation of integrity takes years, but it only takes a second to lose, so never allow yourself to EVER do anything that would damage your integrity.
Sadly we live in a world where integrity is not talked about nearly enough. In the business world particularly, “the end justifys the means” is an acceptable school of thought for far too many. Of course they call it “bending the rules”, or “cutting corners” sometimes they are even more open and call it “stretching the truth” but ultimately what they mean is they are deliberately behaving dishonestly. CEOs under promise in order to over deliver, applicants exaggerate on job applications, employees call in “sick” the list goes on but in each case the person acting dishonestly tells themselves they have a perfectly valid reason why the end result justifies their lack of integrity.
Sometimes it seems like those who are willing to cut corners & act without the constraints of morality, gain power more easily & certainly some people do gain from their lack of integrity. Dishonesty may provide instant gratification in the moment, but it doesn’t last. That momentary result comes at an incredibly high price with far reaching consequences. When you are dishonest, you lose the ability to be trusted, your reputation is gone and the most valuable quality anyone can have in their life, lies in pieces. Profit and power are temporary, but profit in a network of people who trust you as a person of integrity, that, that is forever.

THERE IS NO MANUAL...
Hendrik Pieterse talks to us about designing. There is no manual, no "Dummies guide" to creating new innovations; but the exciting thing is, that although there is no manual, there IS now a scanner which means that at least it doesn't have to be manually measured! We've all heard of & maybe even seen 3D printers- but how do you figure out how to turn an object into a 3D model, that can be manipulated, customized, and then manufactured? You scan it! Most 3D scanners are too large and expensive to be used by the average consumer, but NCC have a portable, hand held 3D scanner, meaning we can scan high resolution images, of high texture surfaces, of virtually any object. Scanners open up a wealth of new opportunities & the benefit to you, is that you no longer need to shut down your operation, remove the part & send it off site to be measured, drawn & manufactured. Something that might take 4-5 hours to be measured & drawn, can be scanned in a fraction of the time- perhaps only half an hour. And better still, it doesn't even need to leave your premises! But that's not the only benefit- scanners have amazing definition and so can be accurate to microns or micrometres, rather than millimetres!

So what are you waiting for? That's the fun for 2016- 3D scanning on site. Changing the whole meaning of WYSIWYG to WWSIWYG what we scan is what YOU get, (at least to the nearest micrometre!) Again, just another way that NCC are increasing our commitment to keeping your down time down & your shut downs short!

ust to remind you a micron or micrometer is a millionth of a metre or, more understandably, a thousandth of a millimetre. A typical bacteria is 1-10 microns across, a spore of anthrax 6 microns, spider web silk is just 8, and, if you are old enough to remember the old tape cassettes - then the actual tape was 9 microns thick. When micro chips were first invented they were 75 microns thick- they are now less than half a micrometer, in fact Intel pentium's are around 0.13 micrometres!

DOUBLE THE STRENGTH THREE TIMES THE WEAR RESISTANCE
There have been some truly incredible black leaders
we believe that this one will be too ! We ' ve been listening to what you need from our chain & what you want from us & now we are excited to bring you this incredible new product - introducing , " The Incredible Black One ", our new plastic chain with twice the strength & three times the wear resistance !
It's HE RE !
&
Five years ago you asked for stronger chain and we developed the yellow flex chain , doubling the life of your chain and making your lives easier . We developed the orange chain for those of you needing better chemical resistance , specifically those wanting to be able to soak it in fruit juice ( with a pH level only 2 above battery acid ) and still get great results ! Then you said , it wasn ' t just chemical resistance that you needed , but that wear resistance was also a problem & could we possibly improve it ?
So, last year, we developed "The Incredible Black One", a chain with double the strength ( when compared to acetyl chain ) - but this time, with three times the wear resistance! That's right, THREE TIMES! We designed it to replace your white or yellow chain, for the more robust applications, where there could be a lot of dust & grit and NO lubrication. This incredible black chain is ideal for dry running applications, particularly where there is product spillage. So when you are ordering chain this year- why not ask for the, "Incredible Black One" and try it for yourselves? NCC, leading the way in conveyoring & plastic engineering.

SQUARE PEG? ROUND HOLE? NO problem ! ACCORDING TO IDIOM, BEING A SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM MEANING THAT YOU ARE UNSUITABLE FOR THE JOB

THRIVE
IN FACT, IT'S BRILLIANT NEWS for you! That's right, having a square peg and a round hole is BRILLIANT NEWS! We're guessing that all, or at least most of your shafts are round... meaning from your sprockets point of view, that all your drive is on the keyway and chances are, in a couple of years your key steel is so rusted that you can't even get it out? Unless of course, you were clever and bought stainless ! A square shaft is MUCH stronger, drives on all four sides and before you stop reading because all your holes are circular, won't fit your machine right? WRONG! Imagine being able to put the same sized sprockets on all your 30mm, 35mm or 40mm bearings, in fact, any size bore, shafts? That's correct, we said ANY size! Imagine how much stock holding that would save? Imagine if you could have a square peg that DID fit in a round hole, so that you could drive on all 4 sides. Now, stop imagining, because its ALL real & it's all true!
THRIVE PAGE 14
That's correct, you read it right it's all true. So those idlers of yours that are wearing away your shafts? We can stop that! We'll supply the shafts ready $4.00 made, & those shafts will be there for life! Nylon is really abrasive and wears your shafts, but with a square bore your idlers will be locked onto your shafts so will spin on your bearings, not your shafts, meaning no wear on your shafts at all! What's more, all our sprockets are guaranteed against breakage for life, so if you break one we'll replace it for free! Just think about it our square bores are 40mm so all your different bore sizes will now be one size, meaning that you need far less stock holding as you'll only need to hold the one type & size of sprocket! Want to know more? Call us on 071 852 8603 and ask us how or set up an appointment to see for yourself!
