Editor's Note

Welcome to the latest edition of The Zine, the official publication of the Casting Society. We are still celebrating our first IN PERSON Artios Awards in three years! The 38th Annual Artios awards were celebrated in person in Los Angeles, New York and London. You could feel the excitement of everyone coming together to celebrate this last year ’ s work in casting. People showed up turned out and ready to revel!

In this issue, we shine a spotlight on some of the most exciting casting directors working today, including a profile of the talented Carla Hool, who has brought her unique vision to such acclaimed projects as “Los “Espookys and “Gentefied ” CSA Board Member Candido Cordejo interviews her about her experience casting in the Latine community

In addition, we explore the impact of the political climate on the casting process and how casting directors may have to consider an actors safety while working in various states with different legislation

But that's not all! We also feature a special section checking in with members of the NBCU Pathway Program, a new program that aims to increase representation in the field of casting by developing casting directors from diverse backgrounds
