Foreword Taken from the personal archive of Ronnie Wood, this carefully curated collection comprises some of the most sought after limited editions published in his artistic career to date. Originally published between 2005 and 2009, these rare and sold out editions are presented together for the first time as the ‘Private Collection’. This collection demonstrates how Ronnie’s unique perspective from within the band enables his art to capture the very essence of The Rolling Stones; on stage, in the studio and on the back of a flatbed truck! The year was 1975, the world’s press had gathered in a New York City hotel in anticipation of the announcement of the Stones upcoming “Tour of the Americas ‘75”. A celebrated story in the Rolling Stones illustrious history was about to unfold. Whilst journalists waited inside the hotel for the press conference to begin, a distant noise from outside developed into the screams and sounds of live music. Far from issuing a statement to the press in normal fashion, The Rolling Stones made their tour announcement in
true rock and roll fashion by performing “Brown Sugar” live on a the back of a flatbed truck as it drove down Fifth Avenue, scattering tour date flyers as they went. “Flatbed ’75 - 30 Year Anniversary” published in 2005 captures this famous event perfectly, an event which also marked the beginning of Ronnie’s Rolling Stones career, having been drafted in to the band after the departure of Mick Taylor. The rarity of these editions renders them precious, and care has been taken to award them the reverence and respect they command. The bespoke framing and mount presentation was expertly chosen to celebrate the beauty of the prints, from highlighting the high grade paper stock to showcasing the hand embossed collection logo, every detail of the finish has been executed to the finest standard. ‘Private Collection’ is eminently desirable, highly collectible and will draw the eye of all who happen upon it; from established art aficionados to dedicated fan of The Rolling Stones, this pictorial journey through the annals of rock and roll is a joy to behold.

Ronnie Wood History and Background Ronnie Wood was born in 1947 in Middlesex, England, into a musical and artistic family. Before beginning his musical career he received formal art training at Ealing College of Art, London. Throughout the years, the artist and the musician have been inseparable. As his musical career progressed, Ronnie continued his passion for painting and drawing; his subjects ranging from band members and musicians he admired, knew and sometimes played with, to family and close friends’ and of course, the self-portrait. It is as natural to find him with a pencil as with a guitar, drawing portraits of contemporaries and finding inspiration from his musical influences.
Ideas and Inspirations Wood has been painting and sketching ever since he was a child and is a passionate and dedicated artist, taking inspiration from artists such as Egon Schiele, Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. Nowadays Wood is adept at creating pieces from landscapes, to portraiture, abstract to architectural; creating his original pieces in charcoals, oils, watercolours, spray paints, oil pastels and acrylics. Varying his style and his medium depending on the feeling or mood he is trying to evoke with his work.
