Experienced Manufacturer Brief History 1964 Production of stick electrodes and water atomised powders began in Dublin, Ireland. 2001 New product lines introduced; Flux Cored Wires and Gas Atomised powders 2007 New production facility opened in Citywest, Dublin. With an area of 6000m2 this plant gives us an increased production capacity to fulfil customers’ expectations as well as focus on environmental needs

Manual Metal Arc Electrodes The World’s Reference The EutecTrodeŽ range of high performance electrode formulations are developed and manufactured in Dublin. From crack repair and joining to wearfacing applications, our electrodes are famous worldwide for their high quality and have become the quality reference after 70 years of production. The complete production line has been conceived by welding consumable specialists in order to improve efficiency and quality while optimizing the work environment for our employees.

Powders The Art of Atomisation We have been working with leading edge powder production specialists to create the world's most advanced gas atomisation plant, which features a unique and effective anti-satellite and variable nozzle design for new levels of production quality and flexibility. The benefits for our customers of these new more spherical powders include increased flow rate through spraying system passages, fewer clogging disturbances, plus more uniform and rapid deposition resulting in defect-free coating.

Quality Control Stringent Quality Controls Quality inspection and testing is focused on each stage of our manufacturing process from raw material receipt and in-process control to finished product inspection and testing. At Castolin, we believe trained staff, documented procedures and continuous investment in control and test equipment are essential to supporting and achieving our customer’s expectations. Critical to all quality systems is the efficient management of data, which is why in 2012 we installed LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). All QC test results are entered to the LIMS system. Our customer certificates are generated from LIMS. LIMS is fully integrated with our ERP system (BAAN) for batch control and approval. In-process tests are carried out by plant operators and spot checks by our quality inspectors. Each batch of finished product is tested to an approved test plan and a standard batch of each product is available for comparison. Test results are retained and we have an extensive selection of retained samples of products.

We also participate in a centralised Group Total Quality Management program with the primary aim of achieving complete customer satisfaction.
