For information regarding a respiratory protection program, see OSHA 1910.134 requirements. · Manganese & related compounds such as manganese dioxide:Overexposure to manganese and its compounds may cause metal fume fever characterized by chills, fever, upset stomach, vomiting, irritation of the throat and aching of the body. Excessive overexposure may affect the central nervous system. Symptoms may include muscular weakness and tremors. Behavioral changes and changes in handwriting may also appear.
