Duel-Shielded, Hydrogen Controlled Alloy for Ultimate Weldability on Medium and Low-Alloy Steels

EutecTrode 6666 ®

WELDING • Industry’s best all position, hydrogen controlled electrode • Can be used on most low voltage AC and DC welders • No spatter or drip when welding out of position • Non-conductive coating eliminates side arcing • High strength and elongation for tough, crack- resistant welds

DESCRIPTION:

WELDING PROCEDURE:

EutecTrode 6666 offers the benefits of both rutile and basic flux protection through its dual coatings layers for a superior choice in low-Hydrogen electrodes. Excellent mechanical properties, weldability and minimal clean-up makes 6666 the best choice for applications between -75°F and 660°F where smooth, regular deposits with good impact properties are desired.

Preparation: Prepare area to be welded by using either a “V”, “U” or double “V” preparation. This may be accomplished by using either ExoTrode® AC/DC or ChamferTrode®. Machining can also be used depending on part shape and complexity.

In addition, the “reinforced” weld deposit has superior sub-zero impact properties.... particularly useful when low-temperature impact properties are needed for critical joining applications.

Technique: Use a near- vertical angle to hold a short arc length. To prevent porosity, maintain short arc length. When re-striking the arc, start approximately 3/8” to 1/2” back from the previous crater and move forward with a stringer bead. Be sure to thoroughly remove all slag and to wire brush after each pass. Post-welding: Allow part to air-cool.
