About me

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, I moved to Milan in 2015 to pursue my dream of studying fashion design at Politecnico di Milano, where i graduated in 2020 with a specialization in knitwear design. I’ve always been attracted to arts and crafts, when I was a child I would draw all day and build my own doll houses inside shoe boxes with cardboard. When I first learned to sew I fell in love with the idea of making my own clothes and learning how garments are constructed. While attending university I had the opportunity to explore my passions and learn new things, confronting myself with different people from different backgrounds, learning how to give my best in team work and what are my abilities. In Between

In Between is a knitwear project made in collaboration with MMissoni. To start the project we had to listen to the songs of the album “Caravelle by Polo and Pan, getting inspired by the sensations, colors, images that were brought to mind while listening to the songs. The result is a seasonless and agender knitwear collection, made both by hand and with the help of electronic knitwear machines like Shima Seiki.

9

10

All the songs have different instruments, sounds and languages mixed together to create a transcendental and hypnotic experience to the person listening. The key words of the project are: hypnotic, transcendental, floating. To give the same sensations of the songs we chose different stitches, like jacquards and 3D suspensions, shapes and colors, creating an optical illusion through the layering of different weights and the combination of contrasting and vibrant colors.

11

Collection Overview The collection is made of different garments that can be worn in any occasion by anyone, since it is an agender and seasonless collection. The garments are very colourful and bright, with comfortable shapes and can be mix matched in different ways depending on the needs of the person wearing them.

Equilibrium

Equilibrium is my final thesis project. The starting point was an analysis of the relation between men and nature, exploring the positive and negative impacts of it. I then started to analyse how the fashion system has influenced this relation, observing how the approach to buying clothes has changed since the begining of the fast fashion culture in the ‘90s. This model of consumption and production has been changing for a few years, consumers are interested in more sustainable brands and are aware of the impacts that our actions have on Earth. I decided to develop a collecition made entirely with natural materials, that could raise awareness and send a message that men has to live in harmony with nature, in a relationship of symbiosis and balance, not only exploitation.

25

Nature has to adapt to humans or is it humans that have to adapt to nature?

26

The moodboard is divided in two parts: the first one shows the strenght of nature, that manages to grow back even after all the distruction caused by menkind; the second one is more futuristic and utopic, showing the symbiosis between men and nature, where humans respects everyone’s limits and needs. The contrasting colors were chosen to make the viewer understand that there’s something wrong in the way we relate to nature, destroying it and not caring about the consequences of our actions.

27

Collection Overview The main concept of the collection is the contrast, given by the pairing of vibrant colors with dull ones, the use of structured stitches like braids and aran with softer shapes and romantic details, the mix of different weights with transparent garments and heavier ones.

Imaginary Photoshoot

Because of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the students couldn’t produce materically their final collection. I wanted to bring my collection to life somehow so I decided to create an imaginary photoshoot, showing the shapes and colors of the garments as if they were worn by a model, to do so I drawed on top of existing photos of the Resort 2019 collection by Victor Glemaud.

Lije

Lije is a fashion project that followed the main theme of EXPO Dubai 2020: “Connecting minds, creating the future. There are three key words that link the project: sustainability, opportunity and mobility. Sustainability is the main focus of the project, we used only natural fibres such as cotton and linen and decided to repurpose materials that would otherwise end up in the garbage, using them as precious details in the garments. Opportunity because it is time to give the same opportunities to everyone around the world, all men and women deserve to feel strong and beautiful. Mobility is linked in the shapes of our collection, translated with confortable, yet still very sophisticated garments.

45

46

The main ispirations were India and the Scandinavia region, focusing on the preciuosness of the traditional indian jeweleries and ornaments in the architecture of temples, and the mysticism and folklore of Scandinavia, focusing on the image of the warrior. To merge the two regions we decided to find an “ideal woman, she is a warrior, a femme fatale, she is not afraid to fight with her own hands, but she is still classy and elegant. To show this strenght through the collection the outfits emphasize femininity and power, while also highlighting parts of the body that are usually considered masculine such as the shoulders.

47

Collection Overview The collection is made with sustainable and recycled materials such as Nespresso Capsules, PET bottles and PiĂąatex, a fabric that looks like leather but is made with pineapple.

70’s Brunette

70’s Brunette is a project made in collaboration with RED Valentino, inspired by the life of Jane Birkin. It is divided in 3 parts: Romantic, Eccentric, Design. Each part focuses on the different needs and tastes of the target consumer, proposing outfits, colors and patterns for different occasions, from leisure to work and special events. All the patterns developed for the project are a reinterpretation of iconic and classic patterns such as the camouflage, dots and floral, mixing embroidery, all over and placed patterns.

Spiked

Spiked is a photography project made to raise awareness to a problem many young girls have to deal with: drink spiking. I myself was a victim of this premeditated act and decided to portray how I felt during this experience, the images show the fear and panic once the drugs start working on the body and then the guilt of not paying as much attention as needed to the situation we are put in, even if it’s never the victim’s fault.
