Matt Erps

Video Coordinator – Winthrop, 2018

Matt Erps is in his third season as the video coordinator for the Western Carolina men’s basketball team. Among his responsibilities are capturing and disseminating game and practice video, while also assisting in the team’s social media efforts.

Prior to joining the support staff at Western Carolina, Erps was a part of the Winthrop men’s basketball team as a walk-on during the 2017-18 season after spending the previous three years as a student manager. As a player, he saw action in 15 games, playing a season-high six minutes against Mars Hill on Nov. 21.

Erps earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2018, earning Dean’s List and President’s List accolades.

During his prep career at Spartanburg High in Spartanburg, S.C., Erps played basketball and competed in track in field.
