Why is Western Carolina University special to you?

“To me, WCU is like extended family. The love for the school never goes away."

What is the best part about WCU game day?

“The atmosphere of being able to interact with your alumni and supporters. The overwhelming support we get from our sponsors and our Catamount Club members."

What is your favorite Western Carolina sports moment?

“The WCU vs. Elon football game in 1964. We came back from 20 points down in less than eight minutes and won the game, 21-20.”

You have been a loyal leadership supporter of the Catamount Club for over 40 years. Can you discuss what motivates you to continually support WCU athletics?

"I never give up and I never will walk away from WCU Athletics. I’ve been through more downs than ups, but I am optimistic things will turn in the right direction eventually. My son, Alan, and I are two of the few that have an endowed scholarship for WCU football."

What would your message be to other WCU alumni in encouraging them to be involved in philanthropic support of WCU student-athletes?

“Look to the future graduate as an investment to Western Carolina University. Every former student-athlete is a potential Catamount Club member, as well as any alumnus from WCU."
