Still University, The Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona in 2007. While in Arizona, Armstrong worked one year as a graduate assistant for Mesquite High School, the largest 5A high school in Arizona. She also worked one year as a graduate assistant for Grand Canyon University, a NCAA Divison II college in Phoenix. In 2005, Armstrong earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and graduated cum laude from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While at UNC Charlotte, she completed a variety of internships in athletic training and orthopedic clinical settings. Armstrong won the Dr. Harvey F. Murphy academic excellence award, given to the athletic training student with the highest GPA. John D. Coble Athletic Training Room

The John D Coble athletic training room is located on the bottom floor of the Abernathy physical education building and provides the medical care for 13 of Catawba’s 19 sports. Prior to 2002, when the Hayes Field House was completed, all athletic teams used this facility. Over the past 40 years, the athletic training room has been expanded and improved to its current size of 1325 square feet. Athletes receive injury prevention, assessment, management and rehabilitation here. There are 7 treatment tables and 3 taping tables available. The facility provides state-of-the art modality treatment, which includes ultrasound, electrical stimulation, diathermy and a hydrotherapy room for hot or cold whirlpools. In addition, a portion of the facility is equipped with rehabilitation equipment such as a stationary bike, elliptical, stair stepper, Biodex total body gym, physioballs and free weights. Also included are two athletic trainer offices and a private Doctors exam room. www www..GOCATAwbAINDIANS GOCATAwbAINDIANS..COm COm

You are a “prospective student-athlete” when you start ninth-grade classes.

Should you have any questions regarding NCAA rules and regulations, please feel free to contact Catawba College and Craig Turnbull, Director of Compliance, at (704) 637-4475. Information can also be located at www.gocatawbaindians.com/compliance.

You become a “recruited student-athlete” at a particular college if any coach or representative of the college’s athletics interest (booster or representative) approaches you (or any member of your family) about enrolling and participating in athletics at that college. Activities by coaches or boosters that cause you to become a recruited prospective student-athlete are: -providing you with an official visit; -visiting you or any other member of your family anywhere other than the college campus; -placing more than one telephone call to you or any other member of your family; or -Signing a National Letter of Intent.

To practice or play during your freshman year, you must meet the provisions of NCAA Bylaw 14.3, which include: (a) graduating from high school, (b) achieving a minimum cumulative grade point average in 14 core courses, and achieving a corresponding minimum combined score on the SAT, or a minimum sum total score on the ACT as determined by the NCAA Initial Eligibility Center. Register with the Eligibility Center as soon as possible. At the following web address: www.ncaaclearinghouse.net.

In the realm of nCaa Rules Compliance, the general rule is

"ask first !!!"
