Supporting each other through CaterhamConnected
You as an Old Caterhamian, parent or friend of Caterham School are part of an amazing community. One of the many benefits of being part of Caterham School is automatic membership to CaterhamConnected which is supported by the Old Caterhamians’ Association.
“Having a mentor at my disposal was a game changer giving me both knowledge and confidence in making my university and future career choice. Thank you CaterhamConnected!
Nell Fahey, OC
Current and former school parents, alumni, staff, friends of the school and Sixth Form pupils including those of one of our partner schools, the London Academy of Excellence, benefit from this exciting professional and social networking programme of events.
The CaterhamConnected online platform caterhamconnected.co.uk exists to connect those in our community in similar professions and industries and to offer advice and mentoring to those in our community who are aspiring or considering to be part of the university or profession/ industry that other members have experience of. We are indebted to our CaterhamConnected network of over 5,000 members located across the globe from the USA, UK to Angola, Brazil, Malaysia and Australia, to name but a few, who willingly volunteer their time to mentor members seeking advice on university and career choices. Career and mentoring opportunities can be explored through the Jobs and the Mentoring function on our online platform. Regular career and industry CaterhamConnected Insight events are held in global city locations throughout the academic year. We are grateful to all Insight event speakers for supporting our members in this way. There are too many speakers to list but amongst them are a current parent who is founder of a global charity, an OC who is a former advisor to a US President, an OC who is an Olympic athlete and an OC who is currently one of the lead actors in a superhero blockbuster movie! Old Caterhamians naturally and informally tend to keep in touch with one another after leaving school, but these CaterhamConnected Insight events (and indeed the online platform) provide a broader means of ensuring that the Caterham community can build new friendships and professional connections.
“The CaterhamConnected platform is an extremely useful tool for those in the Caterham community, especially for those exploring their career options. The Law event put on by CaterhamConnected provided me with a great opportunity to not only network with key professionals, but also to consolidate my aspirations to pursue a career in Law.”
Mary Jones, OC

Giving Day 2022
Our first ever Giving Day took place in 2022 and was a particular highlight – a 36-hour campaign saw every corner of the Caterham community come together and have fun. We raised funds on the day to support Transformational Bursary places, create a Resource Library for use by local Primary Schools and provide two years of lunches to children attending Lerang’wa Primary School in Tanzania.
Highlights of the day included:
– Cats on the Move participants walking, jogging, running, cycling and swimming to Hong Kong and Lerang’wa!
– A school wide dress up, ‘Bee Bolt’ obstacle course and ‘House Bounce off’.
– The return of the legendary Lockdown Quiz.

Telephone Campaign 2023
We recently held a very successful second Telethon too. I would like to thank the 561 Old Cats and parents who spoke to a recent leaver during our campaign. The campaign gave our 12 young callers, who were especially recruited and trained for the role, a unique chance to find out more about the career paths of Old Cats and parents and obtain valuable work experience. Thank you!
