Dear Members, As summer approaches, I hope my letter finds everyone fit, well and with buoyant job order books. Fingers crossed for a good long spell of decent weather for all those outside painting contracts. I’m really hoping that everyone has had a good look at the online Take Time Loyalty Platform for which we have purchased licences not only for you, the Member, but for all your employees too. This is a fantastic new Member benefit with hundreds of great discounts on everything from weekend breaks, restaurants, and cinemas to more family orientated related offers, discounts, and deals. You should have received a stack of information over recent weeks both via our social media platforms and the fortnightly e-newsletter. Full details about this new benefit can be found on page 6. If used on a regular basis, these discount vouchers can save you a great deal of money, and in the current stringent economic climate, I believe that this new benefit will be of great use to you, your family, and your employees alike. If for any reason you are struggling to log on or haven’t received your free licence code, please call one of the team at PDA HQ who will be more than happy to assist. The three Apprentice awards which tie in with our Trophy Awards are now complete. Again, we saw some tremendous talent on show. I’d like to thank everyone involved including all the loyal sponsors without whose support we would be unable to host these competitions. By the time you read this, we will have held the PDA Apprentice Wallpaper Hanger of the Year competition. A total of 24 apprentices took part this year, a record number in the history of this competition! Thanks to our sole sponsor Brewers Decorator Centres for their generous support. It’s very much appreciated. It’s now just one month until the Premier Trophy Awards on 7 July in central London. I’m really looking forward to meeting all this year’s winners on stage during the event. Good luck everyone! Before I close, I would like to appeal to those Member companies who are still to pay their 2022 subscriptions. With the Association approaching 130 years of supporting painters and decorators, we need to ensure that the ONLY trade body for our sector remains in place, has a voice and is there for our future Members. Without your annual subscriptions, this would prove an impossible task. I ask those still to pay, to contact HQ as soon as possible. We really don’t want to lose you! Take a few moments to look at the raft of benefits now on offer and you will see that it really is great value for money. Have a great summer, stay safe everyone and I’ll catch you next time. Please don’t forget, if you wish to speak to me on any matter, simply call Head Office and we can arrange a call at your convenience.
