About Us Catherine Bliss, Professional Photographer Catherine Bliss was formally trained as a photojournalist and filmmaker, has been shooting professionally since 1983, when she was asked to do head shots for a GM dealership. That led to shooting a full-color ad for the dealer which was published in a local magazine. She has worked as a freelance photographer with experience in shooting weddings, portraits, glamour, events, and architectural work. A life-changing back injury in 2008, she enrolled in a program through the Art Institute Online, renewing her interest in photography, and started shooting boudoir, weddings, and portraits. In 2012 she launched a new portrait and wedding photography business in Anchorage, Alaska. Continuous education keeps her on top of the latest procedures. In 2017 she moved her in-home studio to Chugiak, where she currently resides.
Ryan Manor, Assistant Photographer Assistant Photographer Ryan Manor, is the youngest son of Catherine Bliss. With a natural curiosity for how things work, he went to work in IT after earning his certs while in high school, and now works as a Network Engineer by day. Helping his mom haul gear after a back injury, he became an apprentice and now acts as second shooter for weddings, architetural, and commercial work. In his “spare� time, the married father of two girls, he studies the night sky and shoots astronomy photos.

All photos are shot in RAW format and are not available for purchase. Edited digital images are only available with purchase of prints, albums or videos, for an additional fee.

atherine Bliss & Son Photography is a familyowned wedding and portrait photography studio. Our style is clean, classic, and contemporary, with an artistic flair. We love B&W as well as other effects, but only when it enhances the emotional connection with the image.
W
e believe family ties and traditions provide comfort and a sense of being connected to one-another. In an ever more impersonal world, this feels more important now than ever. One of our favorite traditions is collecting photos of fun times, and special events in our lives, and making albums, videos, or wall enlargements to remember them by. These provide a reminder of those happy occasions.
