DESIGN PROBLEM Challenges with deafblindness People with deafblindness are those who lack both vision and hearing, live in a world of silence and darkness. The barriers they encounter when interacting with the environments significantly affect their communication with others, access to information and mobility, etc. Hence , support services are important to help them connect to the world.
DESIGN GOAL
To make the deaf-blind’s communication easier My goal was to design an assistive device to help the deafblind have a better access to the outside world.

Background research How do the deafblind individuals communicate with others?
Assistive systems nowadays interpreter deafblind people
I identified a number of existing assistive systems to
facilitate communication for deafblind people. Tadoma, for example, operates through vibrations and jaw movements of the speaker, with the deafblind people putting their thumb on their lip and the rest of their fingers on the face. Inspired by two-handed Finger Braille, I proposed the

Public design for promoting foreign caregivers’ well-being DESIGN PROBLEM
ABOUT THIS PROJECT Duration: 03-06, 2019, 4-month Location: Taipei, Taiwan Attribute: teamwork, class project (User Experience Design) Team’s background: Business, Psychology, Engineering Supervisor: Huang, Chung-Ching
Foreign caregivers are facing multiple challenges in Taiwan Lots of foreign cargivers coming from South East Asia come to Taiwan for a better pay. Not only do they have to adapt to the new environment, but also have to meet complex health-care demands. They have to put their own needs and feelings aside, and in the long run, it may lead to burnout.
My role: UX research/ UX design - Conducted interviews/ observations with users - Analyzed qualitative data and defined user’s need - Built prototype and wrote transcript for the concept film

We took our prototype to the park and interviewed related users. We iterated our design by adding the idea of a "concentric circle". We hope it will enhance more social interactions for Waginam and further makes her feel engaged with the community.

It’s an anonymous dating app that can automatically detect if someone has a thing on you within a 10-meter radius.
