Final Design for Our New Church Approaches Completion: Worship Space Reflecting Our Catholic Faith
Work is proceeding on several fronts to make our new church building a reality, thanks to the efforts of Fr. Paul, our Pastoral Council, and architect Rich Conneen. We are growing ever closer to having a final design and cost so we can prepare to step forward joyfully in stewardship to support the construction of a church that will welcome our growing congregation.
“We’ve been a mission for a long time, and we’ve moved to being a parish,” says David Andries, vice president of the Pastoral Council. “It has always been a vision of the mission to go to a new church, as the building we’re in now is temporary.”

Once the new church is realized, then attention will go to an education wing, with the existing church slated to become a parish hall.
During a Pastoral Council meeting with Rich Conneen, he presented a preliminary drawing for the interior of the church, noting that his plans are aligned with the guidelines drawn by Fr. John- Mary Bowlin. Fr. Bowlin’s directions ensure that the layout and design of the church are in line with the theological teachings of the Church.
Our parishioners have had an opportunity from the beginning to offer input into the new church, especially during a “brown board” session. Rich Conneen gathered these comments on what our parishioners want to see in the new church, along with those of the Pastoral Council and Fr. Paul, to work on the design.
Once the new church is completed, it will be a space where we all can come together in worship, within walls and under a roof reflecting our Catholic faith.
“Having a new church based off the principles and design of what truly is important in the Holy Mass, is one way we’ll make the Holy Mass a better learning, more sacred experience,” David says. “It is said that church is where heaven and earth come together when we celebrate at the altar. Having a building design that makes that experience most relevant is what we’re seeking to do in the new church.”
