MAGNIFICAT ‘Mary’s hymn of praise, sung at the threshold of the home of Elizabeth, was dedicated to the mercy of God which extends from “generation to generation” (Lk1:50). We too were included in those prophetic words of the Virgin Mary’. (Pope Francis) 3
My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour. He looks on his servant in her lowliness; henceforth all ages will call me blessed. The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy his name! His mercy is from age to age, on those who fear him. He puts forth his arm in strength and scatters the proud-hearted. He casts the mighty from their thrones and raises the lowly. THE HOLY ROSARY The Holy Rosary is composed of twenty ‘decades’, each decade consisting of the Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and the Glory be, and each being recited in honour of some mystery in the life of our Lord and of his Blessed Mother. During each decade we should call to mind the mystery which it is intended to honour, and pray that we may learn to practise the virtue specially taught us by that mystery. 4
