SENIOR MODEL PROGRAM
WORKSHOP SPOTLIGHT
The Girl Behind the Camera Hi, I’m Catie! I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a lover of beauty all around me. I live in the Dallas Metroplex with my husband who means the world to me. My love for photography came from my parents. From a young age my parents had our family photographed and lined the walls of the halls and the mantle with photos of my sister and I. From a young age, I knew that documenting life was important. I have always been a lover of beautiful imagery, but when I picked up a camera and realized I could capture it in the world and make it my own, I was hooked! Freezing moments for other people, the way I see it, is more than a job for me. It’s more than a title, it’s my way of giving back to people. There is something so incrdible about seeing a client’s face light up when they’re moved by their own image. I love being able to share this gift with others. I remember what it was like in high school. Classes, activities, sports, friendships and the pressure to do well at everything. I am passionate about promoting a positive self image and about the self esteem of young women and my goal for my senior girls is to offer the ultimate Senior Portrait experience. My girls should walk away feeling great about themselves and have magical photos for a lifetime. I hope the next pages of my story are filled with more beauty, more love, and more friendships! xoxo, Catie

Stylin Tips 1. Don’t forget to consider accessories, an important element of any shoot. Look for lay ers in jewelry also, including cute, meaningful chains, bracelets, rings, and earrings. 2. Layers done right are slimming and lead the eye away from problem areas. The right combination can totally dress a look up or calm it down and can give that extra pop of color a wardrobe needs. 3. Bring an elastic (brown or black) to cinch dresses and blouses that may look bulky on camera. 4. Dress for the season. Clothing choices should match the season of your shoot. A short dress and flip flops will look out of place in the winter. Instead, try pairing that same dress with tall boots, tights, and a long sweater. 5. Consider starting your senior session with professional hair and makeup, either in the studio or at the local salon.

Senior Portrait Workshop Spotlight On March 10, 2012, we hosted a photography workshop called Lookbook Lab, focusing on lighting and posing for senior portraits. We had awesome students from local DFW high schools model for us. The girls had their hair and makeup done by Brooke Herring Hair & Makeup and everyone had a great time. If you'd like to model in a future workshop, apply to be a Senior Model for Catie Ronquillo Photography! Senior Models get the first call when we need models for a workshop or special project!
Makeup Application Professional makeup application can make a world of difference in your Senior photos. However, choosing the wrong artist can land you in a world of regret. I like to see my Senior clients look their best in ther photos, but also to look like themselves. Not an overly made-up high glamour version of themselves. Don’t fret, I have a fabulous resource readily available to all my Senior clients when it comes to makeup application. During your consultation, I’ll give you all the info and contacts of my favorite local makeup artists who never disappoint.
I also include it in my session fee because I believe professional makeup makes a huge difference in photos and in boosting your confidence in front of the camera! Schedule your makeup application 1.5 hours prior to our scheduled shoot time. This allows you enough time to get to the shooting location and your face will be fresh!
You are the Best version of yourself!
The Golden Hour
When scheduling an outdoor portrait session with Catie Ronquillo Photography, you may notice that I recommend shooting during a very precise time of day - generally the last 60 to 90 minutes before the sun has completely set. This special window known to photographers as “The Golden Hour” is the period of time when the light from the sun is at its most perfect. With its long rays diffsued across the entire sky, the light creates a flattering glow and shimmer for picture-perfect skintones and deliciously warm portraits. During midday, when every ray of the sun seems to find its way to our delicate over-exposed skin, the shadows created are usually too deep in contrast to the glare. Instead of fighting the harsh light, it’s better to schedule outdoor shooting during the Golden Hour when the sun still works its magic - but in our favor.
Albums If you're lacking wall real estate in your home or would like an alternative to prints or gallery-wrapped cavnas, another great option for your senior portraits is an album. You'll be able to keep it on a shelf in your bedroom or the living room and have it as the perfect keepsake to commemorate the transition into your next phase in life.

Your Style on Display Is your home sleek and modern? A rustic, country abode? No matter your decorating style, I love assisting clients with everything from portrait selection suited to your decor, to room planning, to framing and diplaying your collection. My love for interior design coupled with a wide variety of products that work with any decor make the process of picking out and designing displays a breeze. Whether yours is a mighty mansion or a cozy cottage, call me today and we’ll work together to ensure your portraits are as much at home as you are.
Most Popular Print Styles 1) If your style is more traditional, I recommend our gorgeous custom frames raning from a cream distressed wash to mahogany stains. 2) If you change out your art frequently or view your art from a beautiful image box or easel, I recommend our mounted print option. Enjoy your portraits for years to come without worrying about frequent handling. 3) If your style is more free-spirited, artistic, or edgy, or if your decor is modern and minimalist, I recomment the fine art wrapped canvas option.
