Breeding Guarantee and BSE Dr. Billy Blair, Alapaha Vet Clinic, has done a stringent BSE (Breeding Soundness Evaluation) on every bull in this sale. Each bull selling has passed Dr. Blairâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s tests and is considered a satisfactory and potential breeder. All bulls are guaranteed as breeding bulls through the first breeding season. If a problem should arise, please contact any of the above numbers and we will offer a replacement bull of equal or greater quality. If a replacement bull is not available when needed, a credit will be issued for our 2013 Bull Sale.

More Bulls Than Ever Before....... Demand for quality Blackwater beef bulls has never been higher so you will find more bulls in this year’s sale than we have ever offered before! More importantly, we have increased the number of bulls selling while at the same time continuing to improve the quality of our product.

The Program....... We were in the commercial beef business long before we decided to start raising Brangus beef bulls, therefore our mindset is fueled by our background. Our breeding philosophy emphasizes performance, fertility, fleshing ease and udder quality, along with the ability of a cow to wean a heavy calf under range conditions year after year. Naturally thick, heavy muscled, deep bodied cattle that flesh easy, gain rapidly, and mature early are simply the most efficient, functional and profitable cattle in the commercial industry. These are the kind of cattle that perform and reproduce without high input costs and pay the bills when marketed across a scale. We believe it is our responsibility to genetically design our seedstock herd to thrive in a forage sensitive environment, and if so, their sons will as well. Maintaining a zero tolerance program we cull those females that fail to be accountable year in and year out. If our herd rises to those challenges their sons will do the same.

Naming Our Bulls....... Same question every year. Why don’t we give our top bulls special and unique names? Fact is we do name our true herd sire prospects but only after they go through our sale ring, only if a given bull deserves recognition, and only with input from the new owners.

Commercial Females....... We will have 500 Brangus and Super Baldie Brangus heifers available for private treaty sale beginning around May 1. They will be bred to our calving ease bulls from mid-December to mid-March. After palpation in late April we will sort the heifers in groups uniform for size, quality, color, and palpation. Refer to the information on page 29 for more details.

The Bulls....... As seedstock Brangus breeders our single purpose is to raise beef bulls. In our book we believe in raising pounds, selling pounds, converting pounds of feed to pounds of gain, raising more pounds on grass, selling more pounds of muscle, marbling and maternal value, and putting more pounds of beef through the system on less inputs and more efficiency. Every bull in this sale has passed a strict Breeding Soundness Evaluation that includes a visual examination and semen test. We preach soundness of structure and adhere to that principle thru genetic design. There has not been a single bull that has had a hoof trimmed in this sale. All bulls have gone through our performance program and the impressive results of this program are noted for each bull selling. Note the dramatic changes we have made by selection pressure over the last five years. The results are summarized in the below chart. Unless otherwise noted, the weights and measures provided for all sale bulls are adjusted to a constant age point of either 205 days for weaning or 365 days for yearling, scrotal and ultrasound. When comparing our provided information to other sale groups this fall we simply ask you to realize our data has been adjusted to constant age endpoints using Beef Improvement Federation standards while other sale groups might provide actual weights or meaures. Becomes important when comparing data adjusted to 365 days of age versus data taken at 18 to 24 months of age. We believe our bulls are accountable so we are not going to ask you to read through a pile of stuff discussing the merits of our bulls and the virtues of our program. We believe that treating people fairly is the only way we do business, character and integrity is very important, and God has blessed us by being in agriculture and the beef business. End of story. e have 500 commercial Brangus heifers or Brangus Super Baldie heifers that we will list after breeding season ends and palpation around May 1, 2013. We will breed the heifers from mid-December to mid-March. These heifers will sell palpated safe in calf to our calving ease Brangus bulls, and some to calving ease Angus bulls. After using 415W for a season he injured himself so we put him on a set of commercial cows and let him sink or swim. After we got this first set of calves on the ground we knew he needed to be back on our registered females. In two of these bull sales Real Deal sons were the high selling bulls and the high selling sire group. In 2011 our high selling bull was out of a Real Deal daughter. The cow/calf operators really like the Real Deal sons because they hold up in rough conditions and do a great job in getting their cattle bred up. The Real Deal sons also sire plenty of extra weight, as expected, since he is the #4 bull in the breed for yearling weight EPD and a top 20 bull for weaning weight. The sons and brothers to Real Deal are also adding extra pounds and also are the kind to hold up under adverse breeding conditions.

xcept for those stated in the below terms and conditions, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the cattle being sold at this auction. The warranties and guarantees set forth in the “Terms & Conditions” are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied, and the remedies provided therein shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party through buyer, for any breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all other obligations or liabilities. 1. BIDDING: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision shall be final. 2. TERMS: All terms are cash or check. Settlement must be made to the clerk at the conclusion of the auction. 3. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, but will not be delivered until settlement has been made. 4. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: When full settlement has been made, a certificate of registration will be furnished and transferred to the purchaser on those lots that are registered. Give full name and address to the clerk when making payment so the Certificate of Registry will be transferred properly. 5. HEALTH: All animals where possession is sold are eligible for interstate shipment except as otherwise noted. The cattle have been tested for Tuberculosis and Bangs disease within thirty (30) days of the sale date or come from a Brucellosis Certified Free Herd or come from a Brucelosis Certified Free Herd or originate from a Certified Tuberculosis or Bangs free state.. A health certificate will be furnished. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction box will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalog. All cattle will be sold by lot numbers as announced by the auctioneer. 7. BREEDING GUARANTEE: (A) All animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception of (1) injury or disease occurring after sale; (2) negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser. (B) Any bull which either (1) produces viable semen; (2) settles 1/3 or more of the healthy cows he serves; (3) is the sire of 20 or more animals or; (4) settles cows by natural service and passes a fertility test made by a competent veterinarian during any six month trial period, shall be considered a breeder. 8. LIABILITIES: All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. Cattle Brokers, Inc. has been employed by the consignor(s) of the animals being sold solely for the purpose of advertising and conducting the subject sale. All information regarding the subject animals as published in sales brochures and as announced at the sale is based on the representations made to Cattle Brokers, Inc. by the consignor(s). Cattle Brokers, Inc. has not made any independent investigation to verify and Cattle Brokers, Inc. assumes no liability, either legal or equitable, for failure of title, health registration and lien status of the subject animals; and Cattle Brokers, Inc. makes no representations, either expressed or implied, as to whether or not the subject animals are security under any lien, either legal or equitable. 9. OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT: (A) All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing within six (6) months of the sale date. (B) Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within the time limits specified above, if in healthy condition, may be returned to seller at buyer’s expense. The seller reserves the right and privilege of trying for a period of six (6) months to prove the animal a breeder. If proven a breeder, the animal will be returned at buyer’s expense. Should the animal fail to breed, the seller will provide a replacement of the animal with another of equal or greater quality. If a replacement animal is not available when needed, a credit will be issued toward your next purchase. (C) Any animal returned must have a veterinarian’s certificate that it is healthy and free of Bangs and Tuberculosis.
