Dear Cattle Breeders and Wagyu Enthusiasts,

2022 marks the 13th consecutive Texas Wagyu Association’s “The Steaks are High” Spring Production Sale. I am proud to have been a part of it from the beginning, and I am excited to present this year’s sale.

In the time since we started this sale, the Wagyu Breed has made tremendous strides in improving the quality beef available in the United States. You will find Wagyu Beef in most high-end Restaurants and Butcher shops across North America. Furthermore, the average beef consumer has shifted from buying whatever they can find in the grocery store to a more educated consumer that is demanding top quality product. In addition, they want to know how their beef is raised and where it comes from, and nobody embraces this more than the Wagyu Producer. Farm to table marketing over the internet, the farmers market and direct marketing to local restaurants has become the mainstream. The benefits and quality the Wagyu breed offers makes this sustainable.

Wagyu cattle in the United States have made exponential improvements in both phenotype and predictability over the years. The use of data, EPD’s/EBV,s and progeny testing has truly moved Wagyu into the next generation of cattle production. The cattle offered in this sale are a great representative of the strides made by Wagyu breeders. You will find that there is something for any Wagyu breeder presented in this sale.

We look forward to seeing you on April 22-23, 2022, at Tenroc Ranch in beautiful Salado, TX. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely, Robert Schacher
