It’s that time of year again.... Don’t miss this event of the year, Wish List Weekend!
The Gelbvieh Association of AB/BC would like to welcome you to the 2024 Wish List weekend and sale. We have worked hard over the past year to plan a spectacular event. It is an exciting time to be in the cattle industry. With cattle prices where they are, things are looking up for the Canadian Cattlemen. This year, we have 14 fancy heifer calves and 7 productive-bred heifers on offer. There is something for everyone!
While reflecting on the year, the Gelbvieh breed can hold their head very high and celebrate our success. This success can not be more celebrated when we think of the excitement of the 3rd consecutive return of the Canadian Junior Gelbvieh Show. This past summer, we saw the number of juniors once again increase by an exciting amount, and the quality of cattle was phenomenal. With a slight tap on the shoulder, our consignors should be very proud to say that seeing females purchase from this sale was in the hands of fellow young breeders, juniors from all aspects and seeing top progeny from purchased females out working. This has again brought our Junior Incentive program to the forefront as our juniors are the next generation of cattlemen, and helping get them started building their herds will only extend the growth of our breed. We would like to encourage all juniors to submit their show photos while out promoting the Gelbvieh breed and take a good look at each lot to find your next foundation female.
The Wish List weekend has become so much more than just a sale weekend with the spectacular Canadian People’s Choice Bull Futurity, and as you can see in the catalog the growth is tremendous. The futurity is an excellent way to showcase your programs, network and find your next herd sire. With a vast selection, you are guaranteed to find precisely what you are looking for, so we encourage everyone to get your membership and have a chance to have your pick of the bulls. If you cannot be in Stettler, tune into Facebook and watch each round of judging. You can also judge online.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Keriness Cattle for providing this year’s donation heifer! WOW, this heifer has a very exciting future; only one LUCKY WINNER can take her home. Ensure you get your tickets and don’t miss the opportunity on this beautiful female.
We would also like to thank the Destination Sale group for sponsoring this year’s Saturday lunch. We appreciate your support of the Gelbvieh Association of AB/BC.
We are excited to see everyone in Stettler! Take the opportunity to visit with some of your favourite people, look at some top genetics, and network with fellow breeders!

Myrtle is a May born calf that has out produced our expectations. Her sire is a superior calving ease bull Hillsdown Earthquake boasting a calving ease EPD of 19 and BW of -3.7 with calves that have been weaning well above expectations. His calves have all been small, strong and vigorous at birth. Her dam is a large frame deep ribbed cow with a high and tight udder that produces an abundance of milk. This heifer will bring a strong maternal presence to any herd.
Jen-Ty Sweet Pea 123M is as sweet as they come, with that stand out eye appeal that captures you as soon as you see her. She has all the components to be that easy doing, deep ribbed momma cow. Her dam TIP Disney 184D has tremendous volume and body structure that we just love. She always raises some amazing calves. Sweet Pea’s sire BLB Jackpot 117J was the Canadian Gelbvieh People’s Choice Bull Futurity winner in 2021. This female is feminine and fancy wrapped up in an awesome body structure. She will make a great project for any young 4- Her or be an awesome addition to any program.

Jen-Ty Ginger Snap 078M is a stunning, eye appealing, feminine female who checks all the boxes. You have to appreciate her thickness and length of spine. He dam Jen-Ty Bobbie 701B is just one of those deep bodied, well structured, good uddered Chilli females that never disappoint. Ginger Snaps sire Jen-Ty Double Barrel 54J ET has that great length to spin, natural thickness in a great body structure and we just love his disposition. This female is a real gem and we know she will have a bright future.

This Black Beauty is another heifer out of the top end of our pen, she has caught our eye ever since she arrived with her showy style. She’s not extreme in any way which should lend it’s way to developing into a cow who will consistently produce marketable breeding stock no matter the sire you choose to pair her with. The Knoxville calves are another new sire group at our place this fall but they have exceeded our expectations with explosive growth and great definition. He is the quietest bull I have ever purchased and had no problem with coming up to sniff our toddler the week he arrived here.

Future powerhouse mama! Fall in love with TMK Miss Maggie 18M at this years Wish List sale. Out of a Heat is On daughter and a Ground Zero son, this girl is going to be a knock-out for one lucky herd. Miss Maggie is built like a dream - long, deep, and thick in all the right places. Her dam, KCC 41H, is a beautiful broody cow who has been a dynamo producer with Hilltop retaining her first two calves in our herd. Her sire, KLC Jazzman, is our feature herd sire for a reason, long, thick, calving ease to spare, and continues to produce top sellers every year. TMK Miss Maggie 18M is ready to be the foundation of a new cow family for your herd, don’t let this gorgeous heifer get away!

Dusty Rose Kora 406M is our contribution to Wishlist ‘24. She has that “must be an extra rib in there” length without losing balance throughout. We purchased her dam at the Hillsdown dispersal knowing already that she would pair well with our High Road bull. This moderate and attractive girl is sure to become an exceptional producer.

CK Meadow 28M is a homo polled Twn View Pendleton 21J ET daughter that we really hate to part with. Her sire - Pendleton 21J is out of the successful pairing of VV Tiree 150T to Twin View Sugar 26F and has been doing a great job at both Brittain Farms as well as Twin View Livestock. Meadow 28M’s dam is one of Brittain Farms foundation females - CK Carbon Copy 129E. Carbon Copy is a cow that you really have to appreciate for her extra capacity as well as an impressive udder and feet. We have 4 outstanding daughters from Carbon Copy 129E working hard at the farm. CK Meadow 28M is that complete package with pedigree to back her.

Muffin is a sweet natured girl off of a first calve heifer. She has depth, a wide top and is easy fleshing. Well mannered calf with thickness that runs throughout and good feet. This girl would work well in any herd adding in calving ease, maternal strength and milk production.

The best method we have in our program of measuring the quality of an individual is by judging the consistency and quality of their offspring. When we felt it was time to pick a donor cow it pretty easily fell to 61E, since we bought her she has consistently produced some of our best calves who have all made it into breeding programs and I’m confident this year’s, including our futurity bull will follow. Crossing her to our new herdsire Knockout has turned out exactly the way we had hoped, with 3 matching heifers, moderate in size yet adequate in volume. 5M is the best of the three coming out of the top end of our pen and thanks to flushmates on the way we’re able to offer her to you. What sealed the deal for us to purchase the knockout bull was the quality of his dam, the kind of cow I want to see more of in my herd, so with her genetics on the top side and some of our best on the bottom I’m confident this heifer will deliver.

Miss Black Maiden is a tremendous cow prospect sired by Python and stemming from an incredible cow family. She is a herdbull producing type of female who will years of marketable progeny. As they say, there is power in the blood and you will find this package is a tremendous example of her sire and cow families blended together! She is a maternal powerhouse in the making and will certainly provide a ROI for the breeder. We all look for the females who will last and produce consistently, this is the money making type of female we all need more of in the herdbook!

We really love everything about this heifer. Molasses is a well balanced, attractive female with a great temperament. She has thickness throughout with a smooth front end, dark red coat, with a solid foot under her. Her dam is a first calver that comes from a very maternal cow family that are easy to work with and have nice udders. Her granddam received dam of distinction status for the last 2 years.

This black heifer is a foundation type female, being sired by Free Agent and mothered by an incredible first calving female from the Gayle tribe. She is a well balanced heifer who will certainly be a front pasture producer for her new owner. She has the profitable traits of length, muscle and hair to excel in our environment and the longevity on both sides of her pedigree to ensure a great investment! It has been awhile since a Free Agent female has been offered, and she will not disappoint!
Being involved in two breeds- there are things we appreciate about both. Simmental- power, growth… hair. Gelbvieh- longevity, fertility, udder quality. If we could take the attributes from both breeds we love and combine them to make an animal- JNA Spice Girl 83M would be it. She is going to knock your socks off with her power and mass, solid feet, and teet placement that early on looks tremendous. She is not something you come across often...if ever.. in our breed. We’ve tried other genetics, but continually circle back to Spice Girl 106A to produce our great ones. We’ve gone all in and opted to flush this female heavily to grow our Gelbvieh herd. Empire was a great compliment to Spice Girl. He’s added in style and calving ease. I know it is cliche to say “we’re going to be sad to see this one go”- but it’s true with Spice Girl 83M. So much so that if Don doesn’t say sold fast, I may reconsider our decision.

Brenda & I are still on the fence on selling this long framed heifer that has lots of middle, impressive hind quarters from the back view, good foot pattern, good proportional skull and good neck extension that is hidden due to she isn’t that clean fronted. Joe’s “Brenda Half” reminds me to include, “Miss Molly’s” Dam was our first purchase together at the 2015 Wishlist that mostly calved in the first 21 days of calving season and produced some pretty good quality calves. Heck we even have one presently as a herd sire at our place.
*Reminder* JOE 340M’s sire was in the top 6 at the 2021 Canadian Bull Futurity.

Barbie is one of those females that only gets better with time. Her granddam, PHG Barbie B03, was purchased from the Wishlist Sale and a female that turned heads and impressed anyone who ever saw her in the pasture. Her foot and udder structure was flawless, deep ribbed, wide based and easy fleshing and all of these traits were passed down to daughters and grand daughters. Barbie 14L is sired by our senior herdsire, BNH Hot Commodity 27H, a bull that makes fancy fronted, thick made females with impressive udders, and we expect nothing but this, with the genetic combination that Barbie has to offer. 14L is carrying a March born service to BNC National K2129, a bull that has really made his mark this past year at both BNH Livestock and Brittain Farms, siring calves that are soft middled, big hipped and growthy. Barbie is one that will be just as impressive in a show ring, as she would be as a front pasture female. She has been shown by a junior all summer and fall and is ready to make her mark in the breed.

CK Louiza 42L is an exciting, homo polled Twn View Pendleton 21J ET daughter that we have bred to BNHC Krakatoa 11K, a bull you all know from his success at Farmfair and Stettler along side of his famous, many times champion dam- Hot Stuff 550H. Hot Stuff was the 2023 Canadian National Champion, the Canadian Junior National Champion as well as Orb Breeder Miss North America as well as Miss World Champion! Krakatoa 11K was also a finalist in the 2023 Bull Futurity. The sky is the limit for Louiza and her calf judging by their stacked pedigree!

We are excited to present you with a dark red, powerful bred heifer as our consignment to the 2024 Wish List Sale. She is out of perhaps the best cow on our farm- AM Charlotte 3C. She is a workhorse yet manages to maintain great condition all year. This year, she has raised a truly outstanding bull calf. Charlotte goes back to an Unger donation heifer we were lucky to win many years ago. Lulu’s sire has given us maybe some of the most consistent calf crops we’ve had- all dark red and growthy. Lulu is bred to a calving ease bull who was the resulting calf of a bred heifer we bought from Flatland Ranch. Backed by solid genetics and a little luck- we think Lulu has a great future as a productive mama cow!

CJGA DONATION LOT FLR Lustre 5L was an attention getting heifer calf at the 2023 Wish List event where she was GAA/ BC donation heifer. She made a pile of friends and has developed into a very solid bred heifer. She is exposed April 15th to July 22nd to DDN 3102L an exciting new red herd sire with awesome calving ease and BW values matched with great growth and carcass. This powerhouse bred sells in her entirety with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the CJGA Travel Bursary program. This lot is all possible because of the selfless generosity of Unger Land & Livestock who originally won the heifer and quickly re-sold her to help generate the initial funds for the launch or the CJGA Travel Bursary program. Nelson Gelbvieh & Royal Western Gelbvieh bought her and it only seemed fitting for this success story to continue through the 2024 Wish List sale. This is your opportunity to buy a solid bred heifer, with a fresh mating and support the Junior association.

KLC Jan 179L is out of our first Wish List purchase, as Koziak Land & Cattle bought in 2019. She was a solid bull producer; as we patiently waited for a heifer, it wasn’t until the fourth calf crop we finally got a tremendous heifer calf, and as you can imagine, she found herself on the no-sell list. Since then, we now have 3 “Jan” daughters and a granddaughter. This is what makes Jan 179L available today. She has all the makings of a foundation female with a solid cow family to back her up. She has multiple generations of Dam of Merit and Dam of Distinction in her pedigree. Her sire AWB Ground Zero has been a standout here. His calves are born easily and grow quickly. The majority of them are dark red, and all display ample muscling on a soundly constructed skeleton. Invest with confidence in KLC Jan 179L.

Should have called her “KCC Caught You Looking At 85L”. As visitor’s would admire her for being fleshy / thickness from the rear, heavy in the middle, that fills in the rectangle box and showing great teat placement. The only thing I might want to change is her broodiness on her front end with a heavier brisket, but then again those traits would make good bulls too. Don’t let the EPD’s fool you folks she got front pasture cow written on her not the EPD’s. If calving in January as the vet expects isn’t your program, the Ness’s can bring her back to the farm.

to BLB Goodview Lester 303L from March 28 to July 7, 2024.
Really impressed with this long frame w/ good stride, fleshy, quick to grow that comes from a first calver. With her long skull and soft shoulder, she should be able to calf out those sire “OOOPS!?” purchases that happens at times, or hard early winters. Her teat placement is just as good as her Granddam “BLB Maureen” that we just had to buy at the PGA sale in 2018. If calving in January as the vet expects isn’t your program, the Ness’s can bring her back to the farm.

The Ness’s volunteered a donation heifer for this sale. We were very delighted when a few AB/BC Gelbvieh board members had shown up to view an open pick of the heifer crop, and voted on Keriness Cattle Co., KCC 133M. We were more overwhelmed when they offered her to get ready for display at Farm Fair . Special thanks to Stone Gate Farms that accepted this green and; immediately weaned heifer and had to make friends that day. We have seen her since on picture day, we were impressed to see her fill out .
Now rumour has it that some of the Shorthorn breeders that has seen KCC 133M would like to purchase some tickets to possibly win this heifer. What can we do to prevent their chances is to “SHOW ME THE MONEY” All happy to hear your farm name when taking bids. Good luck to all & thank you for your support.

My name is Chase Loren, I won one of the breeders purse credits last year. I purchased a really nice bred heifer from Brittain Farms, she gave me a fancy bull calf this spring. I would like to say thank you to all the breeders who donate to the junior incentive, it gave me the opportunity to purchase a female that would have been out of reach without your support.
My name is Raleigh Little. When I heard I had won the $1450 sale credit for my second year I was so excited. It really showed the amount of work and time going to lots of shows pays off. I was so happy to purchase another heifer to show in some shows along the way. This is what I love about the wish list sale as the calves are mostly halter broke and ready to go to the shows. I love talking to all the breeders and getting a feel which will fit my herd the best. I’m just starting my mini Gelbvieh herd. I’m so glad I purchased GCC Linda 1L ( AKA Ginger ) from Milnes Gelbvieh. I’m so proud of how Linda 1L has grown up and I am so exetied to see her calf this coming year. Thank you so much to Bev and Harold Milne for offering this beautiful heifer to the wishlist. I would also like to thank all the sponsors that make this sale credit program run and keep running. I’m so excited to keep adding to my herd and seeing what my herd can grow up to be.
My name is Shelby Horn. when I heard I had won the sale credit I was jumping out of my seat. Honestly I couldn’t believe I won it for a second time. I ended up buying a bred heifer from Silverline Farms and I love her! The Gelbvieh breed has welcomed and supported me so much and I wouldn’t be here without them. I would like to thank the AB/BC Gelbvieh Association for sponsoring the credit and giving me the opportunity to purchase out of the sale. I’m so excited to see my herd grow and see what I can do in the future years to come.

MD Sterling 407M ET has had us extremely excited since day one. From an early age he shows tremendous power with a ton of breed character. He impresses with a massive hip and muscle pattern while maintaining a very attractive look. When we purchased his dam AWB Gracie Gayle 74H, we knew she was special and her first flush has been nothing short of spectacular. Not only has she had sale topping bulls and females, she also produced a Reserve Champion bull at Agribition, a National heifer calf champion and a winner at the People’s Choice Bull Futurity. Her story is just beginning. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for MD Sterling 407M ET.

Marshal is sired by DDGR Bullseye 50K, a son of CTR Jackpot 8660F ET. Bullseye was selected out of the Gustin program in North Dakota for his muscle, good foot, and quiet disposition. The dam of Marshal, JLSL 059H, was purchased at Function and Finesse 4.0, consigned by Ledgerwood Gelbvieh in Washington. JLSL 059H is a maternal sister to our herd sire JLSL Bonanza 929G. Bonanza has produced an outstanding set of replacement females for our program. We jumped at the opportunity to add the 059H cow to our program and haven’t looked back. Marshal ranks top in our bull calf pen. This lateMarch born prospect will have a commanding presence in any herd.

TVR Towerview Mowgli 2M ET is a tremendous herd sire prospect. The embryo package we purchased from Stone Gate Farm is paying back in Aces. It’s up for discussion that he may be just as good as his prolific sire Exact Combination and that’s why we are here. Mowgli’s sire has stamped him with his very neat phenotype but the x-factor involved here is his dam. She has the added power, structure and muscle shape to give Mowgli that little extra push. He definitely checks all the boxes and he is also flawless in his makeup. All of this draws a breeder to him. Thanks for taking the time to evaluate this exciting young prospect!

I had not planned to profile the 61E cow twice this fall but when you pick a cow out of your herd based on her track record it should come as no surprise that the bull calf she raises is one of your best. His full sister from last year is the best in our bred pen and sealed the deal for us to flush the dam so I had high expectations for this calf and he is living up to them. We were on the search for a super sound bull to moderate our classic type cows a little when we found Doc Holliday. He has turned out to be purpose-built for the task, the group of bred heifers he sired are the best we have raised and we will be continuing to use him for many years. Merlin will make a great moderating bull who could be used on heifers, bringing soundness, structure and backed by some fantastic females on his pedigree.

GAC Magnus M312 is a long spined, homo polled meat machine of a bull calf. Sired by RWG Just One More J506 a Grand Plan son that’s added quality performance and depth. With an absolute stacked pedigree Magnus is a well balanced bull with above average EPD’s backed by maternal longevity and fertility. We have no doubt GAC Magnus M312 will continue to excel into a future herd sire.

Mr Black Mamba is a dual purpose bull. He is smooth made while still maintaining width and depth. He is out of RPS Miss Black Samantha who we purchased from Function and Finesse 4.0 as an open heifer. He is sired by AMS Kaiser, a past bull futurity entry. He traces back to FLAD Gracyn, reserve champion balancer female at Agribition in 2020. This young cow has done an amazing job with her first calf and we are looking forward to her production in the future.

Minos is a bull that sure lives up to his name. He is a powerful, well made bull calf that really stood out for us. His damn BLB Xena is a broody, deep bodied cow that has consistently produced top cut calves. Her depth and capacity show when it comes to Minos’ traits. Minos’ sire is a Hallelujah son from the BNH program. He is one of our newer herdsires and this is his first round of calves. A half sister to Minos is currently in our show pen and we couldn’t love her structural soundness and shape more.

We are very impressed with the first calf crop sired by DDGR Bullseye 50K. Bullseye is a son of CTR Jackpot 8660F ET. Jackpot 8660F is included in the Most Used Sires list reported in the July 2024 Gelbvieh World. Money Maker is a well-muscled, long-bodied prospect with good feet, all traits that pattern after his sire. His dam, ZAL Diamond Z Hennessy 4H ET is a beautiful cow with the sweetest disposition that goes back to AWB Birch’s The Boxer 21D x AWB Birch’s Natalie 22Z. Money Maker has an impressive set of EPDs, 87 lb. BW and is homozygous polled. If you are looking for a herd sire that will add pounds to your calves, Money Maker fits the bill!

When you’re looking to add females to the keeper pen and lots to the bull sale, this is your guy. He has caught the eyes of everyone out for a pasture tours this summer and continues to impress. If his first time momma DDN 235K can do this...imagine what Maximus 17M will do for you!! Be prepared to be entertained.

AWB Twin View Comin In Hot 51M is a truly unique and versatile breeding piece we are honoured to share with Futurity members. He is the ‘unicorn’ we’re always on the hunt for; calve easy then take off with explosive performance. He is superbly designed through his head, neck and shoulder and his depth of center body is sure to impress. We are constantly looking for innovative genetics to incorporate into our work and 51M’s dam is among the most exciting we’ve come across. We fell in love with Hot Donna the moment we saw her with her tidy design and impeccable udder; we are excited to be building a bank of embryos on her. She will become a notable name in our work for years to come! We hope to incorporate 51M into our breeding plans this spring and look forward to sharing him with the industry. Get ready, we’re Comin’ In Hot!

BBG Maximus 36M is the perfect combination of maternal power and performance in one show stopping package. Being out of Twin View Luster 90G and Twin View Hustle 37K ET there is a Donor dam on both sides of his pedigree! Twin View Sugar 26F, Grand-Dam of Maximus, is arguably one of the most influential cows in the Gelbvieh breed. Sugar is a National Champion and an ORB World Champion. Luster being a Homo-Polled Fir River Crosby daughter stamps her calves all the same, deep bodied and down right soggy. All the Hustle calves are proving to be the same, fancy, soggy calves with a show ring presence and performance. Look no further to find your next herd sire!

Here is an exciting prospect that has great eye appeal in a cherry red stylish package. He carries loads of thickness right through his uniquely balanced body structure. His sire Jen-Ty Kick Back 14K has developed into a tremendous herd sire with loads of natural muscle mass deep into his hip & rib. Rockers dam Jen-Ty Demi 850D is just one of those good maternal mother cows with a perfect body structure, excellent feet, and a beautiful udder, all wrapped up in a moderate frame. We are sure Rocker will not disappoint.

KLC Money Talks 48M has been the bull that catches your eye, walking through the pen right from the start. He carries himself with pride and presence while on the move. His muscle pattern is attractive, and his balanced phenotype makes him an easy choice when making potential breeding decisions for any given pen. We appreciate him for his calm disposition and dark cherryred hide. KLC Money Talks’ birthweight is 86 lbs, he is homo polled, and his EPDs leave very little to be desired. He will make a great addition to any program.

What else can we say, this big guy just has it all! Length, style, muscle - TMK Magic Mike 5M is serving up top quality genetics in a nice cherry red package. Going back to SLC Road Trip on the sire side and SLC Swagger on the dam side, toss in some Brittain and Winder influence and you’ve got a powerhouse herd sire ready to add pounds, calving ease, and performance to your herd. TMK Magic Mike 5M is a once in a lifetime opportunity that we are proud to showcase as our first ever Bull Futurity entry.

Silverline Moovin Money might be accused of being counterfeit currency! He is an almost exact copy of Hillsdown Earthquake. He is super smooth through the shoulders and carries incredible depth throughout. Earthquake boasts a CED EPD of 19 and BW of -3.7 so you can expect calving ease, consistently low birth weights and vigorous calves at birth that wean well beyond expectations. The best part however is the incredible quiet temperament. This calf is the first from a super quiet (scratches in the pasture quiet) very maternal type heifer that goes back to HYEK Black Impulse. This is an incredibly rare heifer bull whose calves will definitively push down the scale in the fall.

Big time power in this bull! Max 2M is cherry red, wide topped, and extra long. He is a full sibling of the bred heifer we have for sale in the Wishlist this year. Obviously- we think very highly of this genetic combination. His sire continues to give us calves with that desired natural growth and muscle. His cow is one of our very best- as consistent of a producer as you might find. We anticipate Max’s calves will be born moderate like him- 86 lb birth weight- then hit the ground running and grow. An outcross pedigree to most- this will be a bull that’ll catch your eye in Stettler.

AWB Twin View After Party 13M ET is an exceedingly impressive individual who commands your attention with his liver red colour and ultra smooth construction. He is outstanding in his joint design, has an ideal disposition along with a balanced and user friendly EPD profile. His dam was the lot 1 donor female from Function and Finesse this fall, a cow we believe is among the most phenotypically complete females in our work. After Party offers a most outcross pedigree opportunity, a trait with unlimited value in our breed! He is sired by Vendetta, owned by Stone Gate and Glendale of Australia. We are so pleased with this sire group as they are sound, great footed and seem to become more impressive as they age. The genetic potency offered here is of merit and we believe our breed is ready for a good party. Everyone knows the After Party is where things really heat up!

83 lb birth weight. 14 for calving ease. Baby Face we feel is a solid heifer bull option all day long. He’s smooth made, clean shouldered, and sleek fronted. He is that desired dark red color, has a gentle disposition, and comes with scrotal development to burn. His dam is a cow we really like. She is moderate framed and easy keeping with great udder quality. We have her first calf retained in our bred heifer pen. His sire is Empire- again a bull that we had great success with last year. Calves came small and all grew well. Is Baby Face going to be the biggest, most powerful bull in the futurity? No. But he is one we think could help move a lot of programs forward!

CLR Midnight 7M is an exciting herdsire prospect! The calves we got out of RWG Horse Power H311 this past year have been very impressive, and this guy shows what many of them have to offer. Midnight had an actual WW of 900lbs! He’s soft made, deep middled, and has lots of natural muscle. Who wouldn’t love a pen of calves that look like this guy. The part that really excites us with this bull prospect is the maternal backing; DDN 0164 is likely heading to the donor pen for us next year. When a cow can raise calves like this consistently in her first 3 years of production, you know she’s a great one. Here’s a bull with great backing on both sides and an elite prospect that we feel confident cattlemen will see value in and be able to find a use in many types of herds to add both performance and strong maternal traits; great traits the Gelbvieh breed has to offer the cattle industry!

Every good team needs a good linebacker to protect and add to it’s foundation. Linebacker 56L brings value to the team by providing maternal strength on both sides of his pedigree. Mack daughters are favorites in our herd. Quiet, moderate framed, super uddered and maintenance free cows. On the sire’s side of his pedigree we see DVE Davidson Taylormade 14H who was the leadoff bull in their 2021 sale. He has added the wow factor to Linebacker with muscle expression and eye appeal. Just imagine that butt in a uniform!

Have a look at the length of spine Lightning brings to the table. His super smooth front third and EPD’s for calving east that are in the top 25% for the breed make him very versatile. Lightning stands on a large foot with great depth of heel. Convenience traits like calving ease, udder quality and disposition are built into his pedigree. DNA testing to confirm homo-polled just puts a bow on this genetic package. The JNA GI Joe 425H sons have been very well received by our customers, his muscle expression and shortened gestation are traits that the commercial cattleman appreciates.

Lamborghini has been no stranger to the show circuit. As a calf he showed alongside his dam, CK Justified Vintage 11J, where she was named CJGA National Champion Balancer/Percentage Female and represented the Gelbvieh breed at the Junior National Show in Bashaw. Vintage has had this honor 3 years in a row and has stood undefeated at the CJGA show in her division. Lamborghini carries the same length of body that his dam displays and thickness and clean front that his sire has become well recognized for. This puts together one of the leading cow families at Brittain Farms, along with one of BNH Livestock’s leading cow families and Lambo is the product of this combination. He has a moderate 82lb BW, 858lb Adj WW and 1245 Adj YW, a spread that is sure to fit any breeding program. Lamborghini’s sire, BNH Hot Commodity 27H, has become a favorite at BNH for his sleep easy calving ease, fancy females and stout made bull calves. His disposition is second to none and a bull that you really have to appreciate for his big, solid foot and ease of movement. Lamborghini is a versatile breeding piece that we feel is a step forward for the breed.
