Thanks for taking the time to check out Deer Range genetics. We have been in the purebred business for 70 years and half of that time building our Red Angus herd. We have concentrated on selecting functional cattle that have the ability to grow and perform on the ranch and in the feedlot. In the bull pen you will find our bulls have extra length, style, and standing on exceptional feet.
For many years, we have concentrated on selling extra age bulls that are coming 2 years old. This allows us to calve in spring when the weather is warmer and then grow the calves out slowly on a backgrounding ration. The bulls spend the summer on tame grass and come home in October. They are fed a TMR of oats, silage and grass hay. They aren’t the butterballs you might find at other sales, but we strive to have them developed to show their full potential.
We will be having a live video sale in the shop at the ranch again this year. Of course, we encourage you to stop in anytime to look at the bulls and check out the cow herd. We can also help select bulls for you if you’re unable to make the sale. These are exciting times in the cattle industry, and we thank you for making Deer Range a part of your future.
