We would like to welcome everyone to our third sale, offering our select set of Black, and Red Purebred Simmental bulls. We are extremely proud of our bull pen this year. From 135 papered mamma cows our goal was to sell 20 bulls, unfortunately mother nature controlled the cards and 60% of our crop calved as heifers. As such, we were left with small bull numbers, an expensive feed market, September calf prices high, so we culled extremely hard and consigned 10 outstanding bulls this year.

These bulls range ages from January to February. We make it a priority to take their birth weights and process under 24 hours of age. September 11th is when we weaned and recorded our actual weaned weights. Our vaccination program includes Calf-Guard and Inforce3, Injectable ADE + Selenium under 24 hours of age, then in March we follow up with Vision 8 and Express FP 5-VL5, followed with the same fall booster.

Our focus is to raise hardy, strong footed bulls that can carry themselves through any environment. Our program promotes healthy, conditioned muscled bulls without sacrificing their feet, stomach health and breeding longevity. Our nutrition program is a forage based diet using super fibre pellets. We feed for adequate Average Daily Gain without compromising performance.

Darcy and I would like to introduce Jonathan, Emily, Bo-Devin Klein from Barrhead, AB as our guest consignor. We couldn’t be happier to have another young striving Simmental breeder to represent our sires genetics in this sale. Their home raised open heifer ‘Killer Carly’ is out of our Killswitch line.

We are ecstatic to see these genetics thrive in other producers herds. The Klein family have put hard work and dedication into their newly growing papered herd; we hope you appreciate their commitments as much as we have. Thank you Jem Simmentals for joining our 2023 sale.
