With decades of commitment to commercial cattle production, we at Westhill Ranch have been working towards this moment for the past ten years, beginning with the purchase of our first purebreds in 2015. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our friends in the purebred business who have welcomed us and who continue to mentor us in this dynamic industry. We also want to recognize and thank all of our customers over the years – your support and confidence in our bulls and females is greatly appreciated! You are the reason we do what we do. We would also like to thank our good friends at Morin Creek Angus for partnering with us to offer you the very best Simm X Angus replacement heifers. It has been great to work alongside other young like-minded ranchers.There is no finer industry than Agriculture to grow up in. Westhill Ranch is truly a family business. Often you will find three generations working around the farm. These bulls and females are quiet because the grandchildren frequently help with chores and even hang out in the trough to watch them eat. It is indeed a privilege to have all of our hard work and commitment to quality, culminate in this sale.
Westhill Ranch bulls and heifers are bred and developed with functionality as top priority. We carefully select industry leading AI sires and walking bulls to create structurally correct, free moving, performance backed bulls and females that are designed to go out and work. These bulls are pail fed a Bullseye Feeds bull supplement as well as a TMR consisting of chopped hay, barley and oat silage with Bullseye mineral. The purebred heifers have been pail fed a 14% protein pellet from Bullseye Feeds with free choice hay. The bulls and heifers are on a full herd health program. They have been double vaccinated with Pyramid 5 + Presponse, Vision 8 and the bulls with Fusogard. They were treated with Cleanup II early in fall and Ivomec in the winter.
In addition to the purebred bulls and heifers, we have 15 February born, red commercial Simm X Simm heifers from the heart of our replacement pen. These heifers have been developed on a TMR consisting of barley and oat silage with chopped hay. They are on the same full herd health program as the purebred bulls and heifers. All of our animals sold, will be guaranteed under the Canadian Simmental Association Breeder’s Guarantee Guidelines. Should a problem arise, please reach out as soon as possible. We will work with you to get the bulls and heifers delivered as close as possible in a timely matter that works for both parties.

Mr. Top Gun 405M has been one of the farm favourites since he was born, so it’s only fitting he would start our catalogue offering. He’s a soft made, deep bodied, dark haired bull with a ton of muscle expression. A bull that we think very highly of with massive potential. He’s a full brother to WHRS 55L who was sold last year to Brandon at Dusty Land Ranch, those who walked through the pen last year will remember him. 405M’s dam 12E has been a no miss cow that always raises a solid calf. We have used Stratton successfully on numerous cows, he is a performance packed bull and consistently gives his calves good hair coat and a solid foot underneath them. HOMO POLLED
Mr. Icebreaker 418M is the perfect combination between calving ease and performance. His low birthweight coupled with his smooth shoulder makes him an ideal candidate for the heifer pen or young cows. 38K did an excellent job with her first calf and we have high hopes for this bull’s future. 418M’s sire, WLB Top Tier, has worked well for us and we feel that Mr. Ice Breaker will do the same in your herd.

Mr. Rocky 432M is a power bull through and through, he is deep throughout his rib complimented with a wide top that is sure to add pounds to his calves. His dam 77H is a very fertile cow that has a great udder and quiet disposition. 432M has inherited the trait of being quiet and is sure to pass that along with his performance to his calves. Mr. Maverick 426M is a deep hipped, long bodied bull with impressive muscle shape, complete with a wide top, square foot and the money stripe. Mr. Maverick is sure to add performance to his calves. He is the complete package that has herd bull written all over him. HETERO POLLED
Mr. Walk My Way 420M has been a pen favourite since the day he was born. He is wide topped and deep ribbed with a thick hind quarter. Fluid in his movement with an expressive muscle pattern, he has that herd bull look. Black Gold Walk This Way was an exciting young herd sire we lost too soon due to injury, but thankfully he left us these sons stamped with power and performance. 420M’s Granddam is the first black heifer we purchased from McIntosh Livestock and the cow that we have built our black herd around. Her Riddler daughter is a very maternal deep bodied cow with a pictureperfect udder. Walk My Way 420M is sure to add pounds to the calf crop and replacement heifers to the pen! Although his pedigree reads percentage, he is indeed a purebred. Unfortunately, we lost his maternal grandsire before submitting DNA. An exciting herd bull being one of the youngest in our offering. Mr. Night Runner 411M is a Cobra son out of a first calf heifer. We have used Cobra heavily in our heifer pen and when semen became limited we save it for special occasions and this was one of them. Night Runner’s maternal granddam was a highly fertile, deep sided, great uddered female that was a farm favourite. She has passed this down to 29K making her the perfect combination with Cobra. The result is this smooth shouldered, clean fronted bull with complementary muscle shape. Night Runner is a calving easy specialist, be sure to find him sale day. HOMO POLLED/HOMO
Mr. Jurassic 409M is a looker and sure to catch your eye in the bull pen! This black baldie bull has a ton of style along with a wide top and long spine, which will be sure to add pounds to his calves. He is off of a first calf heifer who did a great job on him. A twin that hasn’t slowed down since birth. Stamped with a great hair coat, deep muscle expression and square hoof of his Walk This Way sire, this guy is sure to leave an imprint on next year’s calf crop. His dam is a deep bodied, highly fertile cow that has produced many sale bulls and this year she has outdone herself with two.

We bought 424M’s dam from Mader Ranches as a bred heifer in the fall of 2023. We were eager to see the result of the mating between her and Rebel Yell. He did not disappoint; we are excited with the result! From his dark red hair coat to his wide top and smooth shoulder we feel 424M is the full herd bull package. HOMO POLLED
Mr. Yeller 430M is out of another first calf heifer that we purchased from Mader Ranches in the fall of 2023. You have to appreciate this bull for his wide top, great depth of body and long spine which will put some big pounds on his calves. This bull travels very well when he gets out on the move. He has the perfect dark red hair coat that catches your eye when you see him. Be sure to find him sale day! HOMO POLLED
Mr. Rain Dance is a deep dark red long bodied bull that is sure to catch your eye with his added chrome – marked exactly like his sire. One of the younger bulls in the offering, but this didn’t stop him from keeping up with the old boys in the group. We were attracted to NGDB Brisk 15J for his birthweight and performance, truly the perfect combination of calving ease and power. Mr. Rain Dance has followed in his sire’s footsteps with the same smooth-made frame complete with excellent muscle expression. Mr. Rain Dance is sure to add performance to next year’s calf crop! Mr. Verify is a dark cherry red, wide topped, deep middled bull. A performance bull, with extensive muscle expression through his hind quarter. His dam is a middleaged, moderate framed, highly productive female we are quite fond of. 431M is sure to make an excellent herd sire.

Mr. Lone Star 408M is another WLB Top Tier sired calf that we are excited about. A bull that we feel would be great on young cows or in the heifer pen. His Dam 43K is a moderate framed first calf heifer that put everything she had into this smooth made bull. With a solid foot under him, accompanied by that money stripe - 408M is sure to catch your eye.

The only Fullblood in the offering, Mr. Reboot 444M is a long spined, deep middled bull that we think highly of. The youngest bull in the offering only born at the end of March, he has showed excellent growth. His dam is a moderate, easy fleshing highly fertile female. Coupled with the long spined, wide topped heavy muscled Narco 70J bull from SAJ Simmentals, Mr. Reboot 444M is the complete package. He is sure to add length of spine and muscle to his calf crop.

414M has been another one of those bulls you just had to admire while he was growing up in the pasture. A powerful performance bull with a great disposition. He is a deep bodied, wide-topped bull with lots of muscle expression throughout his hind quarter. We purchased his dam 75C from Mader Ranches back in 2016 and she has been a cornerstone female for us since arriving here. With Stratton as his sire, you know his calves will be stamped with performance and hit the ground and grow. HOMO POLLED
This eye-catching red goggleeyed bull is backed by power and performance evident through his wide top, thick middle and muscular quarter. We have used LFE Daredevil quite extensively over the years and he has worked great for us. He adds a pile of performance and a dark red hair coat on his calves. Ms. Divine 401M has been near and dear to our hearts since she was born. When we were selecting heifers, she was on the keep list, but after much debate we decided to offer the best black heifer we have raised to date, to showcase our program. We purchased 401M’s dam, McIntosh Divine 27D, from McIntosh Livestock as a yearling heifer. She has lived up to the expectations we had for her, raising top quality calves year in and year out. We were anxiously awaiting the mating with Mader Son’s of Anarchy, and the result was perfect. This baldie heifer is feminine, smooth in her lines, and when she gets out and moves you have to appreciate how freely she travels. The performance from her sire coupled with strong udder development and backed by her highly fertile dam, she is the perfect package. The next herd matron or grab a halter – the choice is yours, we believe she will do great things in your operation.

On behalf of Morin Creek Angus, we would like to welcome you to the first annual Legends of the North bull and female sale. We are a commercial and purebred angus breeder with bulls that sell off the farm, 50 purebred cows and 160 commercial cows and continually expanding. The commercial herd is a nice mix of Simmental angus cross with a strong focus on disposition, fertility, and productivity. When choosing herd bulls, we take serious consideration into choosing top proven genetics with the main focus always being on the maternal side of the sire. Our bulls have been selected from the industry’s leading breeders and this group of heifers will be sired by Hamilton Farms, Maxwell Simmentals, Crossroads Simmentals and of course some of our own home raised black angus bulls. We have been using artificial insemination in both the purebred and commercial herd to maintain those industry leading genetics.
We did not hold the best heifers back this year so whether you like blaze faces, baldies, brockles, or straight black, we feel there’s a little something for everyone. We truly feel these females will go on to be productive cows for years to come.

HOW THE HEIFERS WILL SELL
Heifers will be sorted into groups of 3-6 and videos of the groups will be posted on our Facebook page Morin Creek Angus. We hope to see everyone there but If you’re unable to attend in person, the sale will be broadcast live on DLMS. We would appreciate the heifers picked up on sale day but understand it’s a busy time of year and are willing to bring them home until other arrangements can be made.
With the first two years of a heifers life being the most important to their development, we have worked closely with Ryley Noble of Bullseye Feeds to develop a ration of hay silage and pail fed oats with a custom free choice mineral to focus on health and fertility. They are wintered in a 4 acre paddock so they still have the ability to move around and exercise.
All heifers will be palpated for breeding soundness prior to the sale.
HEALTH
We have a complete herd health program. At birth, calves are given Inforce 3, Vitamins A&D and Toltrazuril for the prevention of coccidiosis. In May, before hitting pasture and at weaning, they are vaccinated with bovishield gold one shot, vision 8/somnugen and will have all pre breeding booster shots along with CyLence pour on in March before being sold.
