What You Should Know about DLMS Farm Gate Timed Auction with Extended Bidding

1. Visit www.dlms.ca, scroll down sale list to find the sale you are interested in bidding on. Click on the sale listing and you will be taken to the FarmGate Timed Auction Sale page.

2. After you are at the FarmGate Timed auction sitefarmgatetimedauctions.ca , click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button.

First Time FarmGate Users

First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Fam Gate Timed auctions (please note due to some of the text notification features the FarmGate Time Auction Site requires a new account separate from your DLMS Live sale site account).

After you create your FarmGate account you will receive a text message with a pin code to verify your account.

On your first log in to FarmGate Timed auctions we recommend you go to your profile and confirm your notifications are set to YES. This allows the site to send you text and/or email notifications when you are out bid and if there is activity on your favorite lots.

Returning FarmGate Users

If you have used Farm Gate Timed auctions in the past simply enter your user name and password to continue. After you have logged in you are able to browse the timed auctions on DLMS FarmGate Timed Auctions.

How to Bid

Now that you are logged in and your account phone number/email is verified, you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.

Place Next Bid - to place the bid on the animal, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the Place Bid button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.

max Bid Amount - to place a max bid, you put your max bid in the second box listed as Max Bid on the animal, and then click the Place Bid button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the maximum amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidental from the seller during the sale process.

Example of How the Max Bid Works: If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you. If someone else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for

you - this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective. You will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again, or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot, competing against each other.

Watch list Feature

If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch without having to scroll through the entire list, you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button. Clicking this “watchlist” icon adds the animal to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of only your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.

sale Ending/Closeout

Most FarmGate Timed Auctions close racehorse style with extended bidding.

Racehorse style sale Close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone to extended bidding.

When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less that 5 minutes on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

Bidding Close & Follow-Up

After the clock has gone to ENdEd and no bidding has occurred for 5 minutes, the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close, the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/ pick up your lot. As the winning bidder you can contact the sale consignor/ sale manager to confirm payment instructions.

Please make sure your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this how the billing is sent to the sale manager and/or sale consignor.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has shown interest in our program, whether by purchasing, bidding or reaching out to chat about our cattle.

Each year we strive to improve our genetic base to meet the growing and evolving demands of the commercial cattle industry. We are cognisant of the continuing trend of red necks with high pigmentation on herd sires while still holding true to our traditional style the buyers know and love. Unfortunately, the market still skews away from the more traditional feathered markings on the necks of Hereford cross livestock, so we strive to reduce that impact on our customers and optimize returns with strong pigment patterning.

sarb genie 50a 23g

Massimo is out of our LSF Upstart herdsire. These calves were all extra vigorous at birth and built for calving ease. This guy would work great on heifers without sacrificing performance. He is also red necked with a ton of pigment. A maternal brother sold in last years sale to Warren and Marcia Day.

Seven of the eight bulls in this sale are full red necked and all are pigmented. We are featuring bulls that will increase your calving ease and bulls that will increase power in your herd. This year we are also offering 5 open purebred heifers from the top cow families in our herd.

Please feel free to contact us prior to the sale as we would be happy to host you at the farm to tour our offering.

For sale updates and additional photos, please check out our Facebook page “Rebers’ Polled Herefords”.

This dark red necked, goggle eyed bull is out of a first calver and our Bar RZ Jaxon sire. Heifer approved, he will give you the calving ease and pigment you’re looking for and with the cow family backing him you should get some good replacements for the keep pen.

Grande Prairie, AB

780-518-2020 Evan

Located just 10 minutes east of Grande Prairie, we have had the great pleasure of raising our 3 children in the country way of life. Now as empty nesters with 3 grand children we realize just how blessed we are. If the last few years has taught us anything, it’s how important friends, family and community are.

We want to take this time to thank all of our fellow contributors in this 5th annual Heart of the Peace Multi Breed Sale, and to thank all of our past supporters.

Evan grew up showing purebred Hereford cattle in 4-H and local fairs around the Peace Region. When our girls, Jaeden and Madisyn, got into 4-H with heifer projects they chose to get purebred Angus. This is where all the fun began again with the cattle!

Most of our herd is genetically linked back to the first blood lines that our girls used in 4-H. With the extensive use of artificial insemination in the early years, we have built a very reliable herd of red and black angus. The traits we focus on are good feet and legs, conformation, docility, calving ease, and the ability to perform at weaning time.

All of our bulls and heifers in this Heart of the Peace sale this year are sired by RED LBL MULBERRY 12B 3K of the highly respected Lazy B Livestock Angus herd. This sire is what I would consider to be a little bit Country and a little bit Rock and Roll!! Plenty of calving ease and yet lots of weaning weight to put dollars in the bank at sale time! We realized a few years back that when 8 out of 10 people calling for Angus bulls were looking for “Heifer Bulls”, it only made sense to make this a priority. As a result, this shift in prospective has made for the easiest calving seasons we have had.

Binks Angus Farms is honored to have partnered with such a great group of like-minded cattle producers in this Multi breed bull and female sale.

For your convenience Lazy B and Binks Angus bulls and heifers will be all together for viewing at Binks Angus Farms. Come pick your next Angus herd sire!

Loaded Berry 417 M is just that. Loaded with calving ease with 71 lb birthweight! This fella boasts a good weaning weight as well. This cherry red bull has straight lines, straight legs, clean through the front. Nice small head and big testicles - can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a red heifer bull today.

We would like to welcome you back to the 5th annual Heart of the Peace Bull and Female sale. We are once again very excited to share with you our finest bulls that strongly represent our program.

We have 10 bulls on offer with 6 different sires and if you are looking for an Angus bull we are positive we have something that will work for your operation. We raise our Angus cattle keeping in mind ease of handling and safety without jeopardizing the fundamentals; structure, growth potential, calving ease and fertility. We believe that tie and halter breaking our bulls will benefit your operation by producing predictable and profitable cattle. We are very hands-on with our animals by visually heat detecting and AI-ing without the aid of a sync program. At the end of May the tank is put away and the cattle are exposed to reputable and calving ease sires.

Our bulls on offer will be tie broke, parent verified and semen tested. All our bulls have been hand fed, hand groomed and accustomed to people and dogs. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions about our program or tour through the bulls on offer. Once again the photos in this catalogue were taken Dec 29, 2024. Videos will be taken the first part of March for viewing on DLMS sale day.

We would also like to give a shout out to RancHER Designs for the sale books, Kyle Klassen for the photos/videos as well as our Sponsors. Your support matters. ~Melanie & Trevor

Have a good look at this moderate Musgrave Colossal son. He is long made, deep and dense. He has a tonne of muscle expression and has Herd Bull written all over him. 4M is out of one of our designated Premier cows, Khaleesi 1C, a 9 year old Connealy Consensus daughter, consistently producing 800+ lbs WW bull calves. 4M weaned off Sept 23 2024 at 846 lbs. Teepee Creek, AB 780-832-1189

Welcome to the Heart of the Peace Bull and Female Sale.

We would like to share how excited we are to be consignors in this year’s sale. We run a mixed farm operation in Teepee Creek, AB with our 3 young sons consisting of sheep, pigs, turkeys, grain and cattle.

Our journey in raising purebred black Angus cattle started 10 years ago. We feel the foundation to every great herd is investment in the mothers. Even though our herd is still small, we have every confidence in our cows. We are very adamant in our cows having nice udders, good feet, good temperament and being able to raise consistent animals.

This year we chose to acquire some embryos from some good friends in Ontario from some very reputable females in the Angus industry. Along with growing our herd around these genetics, we feel we have taken a step forward this year with some new bull power.

We were very excited to be able to be part owners of DMM Snapback 13L (son of the great donor cow 105A) with Miller Wilson Angus. They have been great mentors to us. We also added RLP Jester 21L from Pieschel Farms to our herd this year (a son of the great Cheetah 15X cow). We look forward to seeing what these genetics do to our herd and are always looking to improve.

Stop by the farm anytime to tour the herd and look at the bulls, coffee is always on.

We split a flush with Lyndon Manor Farms, the maternal grandam of these bulls was the great Baldridge Isabele Y69. Anyone involved in the Angus industry will know that cow. We were very excited to be able to share in this flush. Glen flushed her to EXAR Stock Fund 9097B a son of Deer Valley Growth Fund. Glen said we would be happy with this flush and he was right.

Out of the 7 embryo calves we got, the 5 bull calves are almost identical. They bring the calving ease and growth. These bulls will not disappoint you. They have been favorites from the beginning as well and they are quiet. These two have had halters on them and were apart of the Pen of 3 bulls that attended the Peace Country Beef Congress in Grande Prairie in January. Stop by and take a look at these guys.

S A V RESOURCE 1441

PFLC PURE PRIDE 16B

This bull has been one of my favorites from the start. Coming from the Meadow Bridge Angus program he’s a stout son of the prolific SAV Resource 1441 x PFLC Pure Pride 16B. If we didn’t have so many cows here already with the Resource blood line, he would be staying right here. He will add the pounds to your calves in the fall and you will want to keep the females for your replacement pen.
