Welcome to our 5th annual production sale that we have titled, “Top Shelf”.

Melissa and I knew that we wanted to offer our best genetics in this year ' s sale. We held back a special crop of ewe lambs last year that are deep in some of the best ram power in North America and are out of our foundation ewes. Our spring lambs may be young but they will be the type that will either bring you strong results in the show ring or bring you the ewe base or ram power needed in a production flock. There is something for everyone in this sale! Juniors, I hope you will take advantage of our sale credit, as you are an important part of our industry. We have been incredibly picky about only keeping ewes in our flock that have the motherly instincts, good udders and walk on a good set of feet and legs. Because ultimately, these sheep have to go back to the barn and be productive!

Our family has made it our mission to embark on a journey with our customers. So when you buy from Van Gro, you are getting a teammate. When you succeed, we succeed! Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. We look forward to seeing you at the farm to check out the sheep, visit, and have lunch with us!

You are invited to come to the farm and view the lots from 10-4 on Saturday, May 6th. Lunch will be served from 12:00-2:00. The auction is live on DLMS from 10 am- 8 pm.

Arrangements can be made for viewing earlier than the sale day. Some animals will be eligible for export, please contact Josh if interested.

Looking forward to connecting with old friends and making new friends!

Josh, Melissa, Felicity and Austyn Groves

"SAM I AM" DORSET YR RAM

Owned by Felicity and Austyn Groves- Groves Girls Genetics

Our Lot 1 in the sale this year, needed to be something that was from our top shelf! This one was a huge argument in our house if we were going to let him go! We knew we wanted to offer our best here

“Sam I Am” is coming to this sale with quite the show resume from the 2022 Royal Winter Fair:

1st place Dorset slicked sheared ram lamb

Champion Dorset Ram

Supreme Champion Slicked Sheared Ram lamb

Supreme Champion Ram

He is out of our Slack ram “Sam Adams” and from our top foundation ewe Sam Adams made the most impact on our Dorset flock He was also the Champion Dorset ram at the Royal in his younger days His son, “Sam I Am” will go on to do the same. His muscle, thickness, and bone will make a stamp on any flock!

The dam’s side goes back to “Sam Adams”, our Slack ram

This ewe has been in our keeper yearling ewe pen and has been on just hay this winter. Our Dorsets are easy keeping, and we only keep brood ewes that are excellent mothers and have great udders She is going to make an excellent brood ewe

We thought we would add two crossbred ewe lambs to this year's sale We could not resist adding these two lambs because they are just COOL! Check out the width of the rack! Use these girls as brood ewes or they would be fantastic in a market lamb show! We would love to see these girls in the Crossbred class at the Royal If these girls were purebred, there is no way they would leave the farm
