General terms and conditions 1. Field of application The following general terms and conditions apply to the contractual relationship between participants in the Cultural Brand Awards and Causales (hereafter known as the organisers). The prize-giving for the Cultural Brand Awards and Night of Cultural Brands will take place on 30.10.2014 Any differing terms and conditions from the participant have no validity. 2. Registration/deadlines Your registration can be made by post, fax or email, up to and including 15.8.2014. The receipt of your registration is considered legally binding intent to participate in the competition. The list of participants and nominees will be publicised on the internet (without contact details). Registrants who wish for no disclosure must communicate this to the event organisers. While there is no specific refusal from you, we will send you the free Causales Newsletter on a regular basis as a part of your registration. 3. Performance The processing costs are per category and registration plus statutory Value Added Tax (vat). The organisers accept no liability for program alterations and/or printing errors. A registration does not afford you the right to make any oral or written evaluation of submissions to the jury or the organisers. Should the execution of the prize-giving not be possible through force majeure or any other critical reason (e.g. too few applicants), registrant will be informed immediately. Registration fees will be refunded in this case. A claim for reimbursement of travel costs, hotel costs or lost working time is excluded. 4. Payment deadline, payment, default and compensation. The registration confirmation is sent to the registrant in the form of an invoice, which is to be settled within 14 days. Should the registrant default on this, the organisers reserve the right to charge a reminder fee of eur 5,–. 5. Cancellation A cancellation of the registration, or of the nomination in the category “European Culture Manager of the Year” is not possible. The same applies for billed and paid-for bookings of entry tickets for the prize-giving. 6. Copyright law Received submission materials will be handled confidentially and will not be distributed to third parties.

7. Liability A reimbursement of the costs will be guaranteed, in the event that the number of participants is too low to stage the prize-giving event. If the staging of the event is endangered by force majeure, no costs will be reimbursed. 8. Place of jurisdiction The agreement is made under German law. Place of jurisdiction is Berlin/Germany. 9. Data protection The organisers protect personal data. Causales will handle all data provided to them by participants confidentially and will only use it in accordance with data protection laws. Personal data is defined as all data which is stored in connexion with a person’s name.
