Our Changing Seasons

Written By: Lindsay Miller Illustrated By: Caylin Parrish

Each year on Earth has four seasons changes that take place. Each season brings a different type of weather patterns that are beautiful on some days but are extremely dangerous on others. The four seasons are, autumn, also known as fall, winter, spring, and summer.

Autumn/Fall is a time of cooling and colorful changing leaves. This is the season that comes before winter. Fall is a time when we see all of the leaves falling from the trees and squirrels collecting nuts.

Winter is a time of freezing temperatures and blustery days. When the temperatures drop, we see a change in precipitation. Snowflakes of all different shapes and patterns fly from the skies, sometimes turning into blizzards.

Spring is when the Earth thaws and things come back to life after a dormant winter season. The trees begin budding, tulips and daffodils pop up everywhere, and we see the grass starting to turn back to green. Many animals wake up from their long winter sleep during spring. The days become longer and the weather gets warmer.

Summer is the hottest season of them all. The days are sunny and long. Flowers and gardens are planted around the world during the summer seasons. Farmers’ fields grow rich with corn and soybeans. Summer brings thunderstorms and some days the temperature reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

A Year of Changes Written by: Benjamin Lepak Illustrated By: Caylin Parish

Every year as people who live on Earth, we go through the various seasons known as autumn (also known as fall), winter, spring, and summer. These seasons bring us a variety of weather, some of which is very beautiful and some that is very frightening. But no matter how bad the weather gets, there are better days to come.

Autumn/Fall is the time of school starting and the trees preparing to go to sleep for a long winter’s nap. To prepare to go to sleep, the trees take the food from their leaves.

This leads to them start changing colors and then falling to the ground. Can you count the colorful leaves?

Winter brings a break from time in school and then the weather lays a blanket of snow on everything. The days are longer and colder during this season. Many animals to go to sleep to save up their energy for warmer days to come.

During this season we often see the colorful lights on people’s homes and or trees. Can you count the colorful lights?

Spring is the time when nature removes the blanket of snow and everything starts to wake up again. During this season we tend to see a lot of new life in nature. Then the birds come back from the south. This is called migration.

During spring the colorful flowers begin to bloom. Can you count the many different colorful flowers?

Summer is the hottest season. The children are out of school and are playing outside. During this season, the days are the longest and allow the most time for adventures.

This is the time of swimming and fishing. Can you count the kids playing in summer?
