INTRODUCTION
For over 20 years, the Chamber has been arranging annual Earth Day clean-ups to improve the state of Cayman’s beaches and public areas. With our CaymanCLEAN programme, we hope to encourage our members, and the greater community, to adopt a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, and inspire ongoing involvement in sustainability causes.
EARTH WEEK 2023 is a development of “Earth Day Clean Up”, a Chamber of Commerce Signature Programme event. This week of events will encapsulate both physical and virtual activities including CLEANTips, webinars, social media takeovers and the renowned clean-up. In addition, we will be partnering with individuals and business in the Cayman Islands to increase awareness around this year’s theme: “CONSERVE THE CORAL REEFS.”
Commencing Sunday, 16 April, we will be showcasing businesses’ sustainable initiatives and products. On Saturday 22 April, participating groups will be conducting island-wide clean-ups from 7am to 10am, including snorkel-and-clean activities, roadside beautification, as well as bulk waste removal. In addition to making our islands cleaner and greener, participants will have the privilege of sporting a special-edition collectible T-shirt and tote bag, custom-designed for the 2023 Earth Day Clean-up.
For a successful Earth Day Clean-up, we rely on support, sponsorship, and donations from office teams, government agencies, environmentalists, students, and other community-minded people. Chamber members are encouraged to show their support by recruiting and sponsoring a volunteer team. In addition to a range of corporate branding opportunities, sponsors and participants will receive event T-shirts and tote bags as a token of our thanks.
We look forward to partnering with you for another successful CaymanCLEAN event!
