The Bachelor of Arts degree in English encourages students’ intellectual, social and ethical growth through the critical examination of literature, drama, film, popular culture and communication. In addition to helping students develop specific skills associated with the discipline – written and spoken communication, literary appreciation and analytical thinking – graduates of the program develop a solid foundation for graduate study in English, English education, journalism, law and in other disciplines requiring strong critical thinking skills and talent in spoken and written communication.
