(269) 381-5382 (cell): (269) 341-3786 Start date: Feb. 2018 End date May 2018 Renewable for more than one semester SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. SCORE provides free information and online mentoring on the SCORE website at www.KALAMAZOO.score.org. We are currently seeking an intern for the following internship: Marketing and Social Media Internship Responsibilities include: • Manage social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn • Able to create and manage FB events, workshops and ads • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign/Photoshop • Constant Contact experience a plus • Assist with special events planning and implementation, including Entrepreneurship Day (September), Small Business Week (May) • Review and coordinate changes to the marketing plan • Write and edit articles or short stories for our newsletter or other publications • Research and build relationships with business and media contacts • Seek opportunities to promote SCORE’s work and outreach events • Identify presentation opportunities for our small business workshops and SCORE-related events. • Time commitment: 8-10 hours per week for 15 weeks (120 contact hours) • Attend monthly SCORE meeting and event planning meetings, where required Qualifications: • Marketing/Communication/Social Media or related major, i.e. public relations, advertising, marketing, special events, business management • Junior status preferred • Minimum 3.5 GPA in major courses • Comfortable using MS Word, Excel, Adobe PDF (other software training will be provided) • Able to use email and phone to maintain regular contact with designated SCORE members • Experience using Facebook, Facebook Advertising, Twitter, and LinkedIn a plus • Photography or video experience a plus • Graphic design experience a plus • Work may be done onsite or remotely • Access to a computer with internet
Evaluation Process: Create a portfolio including: • A short report of activities completed by March 20 for midterm semester evaluation • A brief written analysis of your involvement in completed workshops or SCORE-related events and suggestions for changes/improvements/corrections • A short report tracking all assigned projects from start to finish, including an evaluation of your experiences in this internship (more information will be provided) • Instructional “cheat” sheet for posting to social media or other procedures that may be helpful to future interns To apply, please send a current resume, along with a brief cover letter explaining why you should be selected for this internship.
