Gorbel Gorbel’s newly renovated introduces a new brand image through an inviing industrial atmosphere. Interaccng with the public on a day to day basis, it is essennal that the company’s values of integrity, posiive environment, and extraordinary customer service are represented throughout the design. The work environment reflects the equipment the company produces, while accommodaang to the needs of the individuals occupying the space. Daylight is maximized to increase employee produccvity and comfort as well as reduce energy costs. Natural elements, colors, and materials increase happiness, creaavity and work efficiency. Gorbel’s signature color paleee is used in thoughhul applicaaons throughout the design. The Public Buildings Studio collaborated with the Richardson Center Corporaaon to transform building 43 into a space beneficial to the surrounding community. With the architectural boom in the city the space lent itself to becoming the center for the celebraaon of architecture and design. adappve reuse | preservaaon | intervennon | conservaaon
Building 43 has been transformed into the Buffalo Architecture’s home. Ameniies for all ages make the BAC a dessnaaon for family fun. The connector from building 42 allows traffic from Hotel Henry to enter into the informaaon center. This will aide in generaang interest in Buffalo’s architecture. With the addiion of a cafe the BAC will create revenue to support Buffalo’s architecture and draw people to the Richardson Olmsted Complex. Revit

This design collaboraaon acted as a verrcal studio, combining the junior and senior class. Each design team was assigned a luxury brand to design a new facade of the current building, create a atrium, and a wow element in the shared space. A case study of mullple epicenters educated us about our brand Pr Prada. These aspects were to be designed pertaining to the brand standards, mission statement, and what the brand stands for. Performance, cinema, art, and experience are the brands key values. In our shared space we created a wow element that combines these values. The mull funcconal staircase serves as a runway for fashion shows, seaang for events, and merchandise display. Open floor space was essennal to ensu of areas for events & performances. ensure

Prada Epicenter
The Prada Epicenter is designed adjacent to the central lobby previously designed. The space expresses the brand idennty through seven different dimensions. This design accommodates the funcconal components of a retail locaaon, while showcasing a “wow” element that is designed around Pr Prada’s core values, as well as providing verrcal circulaaon and containing a retail space below. With researching consumer behavior in a retail environment, emooonal factors of design, flagship stores as experience providers, and the brand’s trends the new Prada locaaon is set out to be a sp spaaal embodiment of the brand otherwise known as a “brandscape”.

Locaaon: 500 block - Buffalo, NY Project Duraaon: 7 Weeks Square Footage: 2,700 This penthouse is designed for a buuerfly collector and her family. The structure sits upon the top of a historical building, overlooking downtown Buffalo. This space funccon both as a home for the residents and showcase for their colleccon. Storage systems and displays for the buuerflies are in incorporated throughout the design in ways tailored to the buuerfly. The Buuerfly wings and the concept of metamorphosis are key elements in the overall design of the penthouse.

Inspiraaon: Richard Meirer's Smith House Project Duraaon: 7 Weeks Square Footage: 2,000 The home is designed for a sculptural arrst who is need of a space to create and display art work for guests. The inspiraaon from this house is derived from the Smith house, which focased on private vs public. The home’s exterior appearence blends into the surrounding woodlands, making the homes pr precence unknown. Through a series of manipulaaons, an opportunity for a residennal space emerged. The cannlevers created opportuniies to make the cavity on the below levels usable space. This was done by placing glass curtain walls, as this would not affect the mass as a whole.

Apple creates a sense of community associating their brand with a lifestyle of community and innovation. In a simplistic and geometric space for showcasing the newest harmony,
products the
and
training
in
lighting
creates
a
stimulating environment while uniformly illuminating the way the guest’s interact with the products. With the technology to control scenes the workshop allows the appropriate hierarchy to match spaces needs. Using the ability to highlight nature it uniformly incorporates the available daylight. Like apples products the lighting communicates removal of complexity, and beautiful design.
