REACHING OUT TO REFUGEES
After her husband died, grief consumed Maria. “I cried in despair,” she said. She sold her husband’s belongings and opened her house in Poland to the Ukrainian refugees fleeing for their lives from the war. “I give them everything, my heart and my time,” said Maria.
Once the weary travelers arrive, they often cry and share their tragic stories. Some have moved on, but many still have nowhere to go. While she could, Maria used her own resources to care for those who came to her. At one time over 50 refugees filled her home.
But when Maria’s funds dwindled, generous friends like you enabled her to continue helping battle-weary families. Through CBN’s Operation Blessing, their physical needs are met. They are free to heal emotionally. “It is always inspiring to see people from other countries extend love to those who need it,” she said. “As we honor our guests, we honor God.”
