BOARD CHAIR ’ S WELCOM E AN D THAN KS
Dear Perkiomen Community, As the newly elected chair of the board of trustees and a Perkiomen alumnus, I am pleased to extend the school’s sincerest thanks for a successful 2014-2015 school year. Last year, your generous support was felt in all areas of the school: from museum visits and new term courses, to essential athletics equipment and new buildings. As you read about the school year, view the photography, and find your name in the pages that follow, I hope our appreciation is evident. More importantly, however, I hope you come away with a strong understanding of the impact you had on our school year and all that we accomplished with your support. While this report focuses on the school year that has passed, I want to let you know that the current year is off to a strong beginning. Our new headmaster, Mark Devey, arrived on campus over the summer and has successfully steered the school through the transition in leadership. Moreover, Parents Hall — Perkiomen’s dining hall — underwent a major renovation to improve the dining experience for students. We are already looking forward to sharing your impact in next year’s Report to Donors. Thank you, again, for your loyalty. Sincerely,
P HILIP

FINANCIAL AID & ADMISSIONS
With your help, Perkiomen provided 136 students with over $4 million in need-based aid last year. Moreover, your gifts supported recruitment efforts through travel and open houses and helped the admissions office provide a warm welcome to students and families during registration and orientation week. The photographs that follow represent the big picture impact of your support for admissions and financial aid.

Academics at Perkiomen are never static, and your gifts helped enhance the school year by supporting new courses, faculty professional development, new experiences and field trips, materials for new projects, and the supplies that bring classrooms to life. Two new additions to the program were particularly exciting in 2014-15. First, the new 3-D printer and scanner provided opportunities for interdisciplinary projects. Students in a variety of classes were able to implement principles of art design, geometry, physics, technology, and more to create and print three-dimensional monuments, historical replicas, and works of art. The Allison Middle School Program’s new Design Lab was another major highlight of the school year. The program leans on the scientific method to teach students about innovation, collaboration, academic risk, and the positive role of failure. In the design lab, students designed and raced wind-powered vehicles and tackled problems such as how to protect communities from erosion and water damage. Your gifts helped provide the materials that made these unique learning opportunities possible.

STUDENT LIFE
In 2014-15, the advising program, family-style and holiday meals, clubs, chapel programs, Social Justice Week, weekend activities, and the reimagined Purple and Gold Games competition brought Perkiomen’s diverse campus together and strengthened the sense of family and community ties. Perkiomen students also strengthened their off campus community by turning their attention towards a number of local service projects in 201415. In addition to food drives for the Open Link and working with elementary school children at the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library, students and faculty developed lasting relationships with the residents of Frederick Living— a retirement and continuing care facility nearby. In April, the community outreach program ended on a high note with Perk Cares, a community service day held at various sites in the local area. Your gifts to Perkiomen provided student life guest speakers, documentary film screenings, national club dues, transportation to community service activities, faculty chaperones, activity supplies, and materials to support community and enrich the student life experience.

We are grateful to the companies that supported Perkiomen by matching the personal gifts of their employees. Many corporations matched the original gift dollar-for-dollar, allowing the school to receive twice the support. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, talk to your human resources department or give us a call at 215-679-1157.
