Label: ADEAM, designed by Hanako Maeda Need to Know: After showing her first three collections during Tokyo fashion week, ADEAM designer Hanako Maeda (”ADEAM” is her last name spelled backward) took a big leap and joined the New York calendar this season. The label’s Fall collection was inspired by the well-loved musical Into the Woods, and Maeda really had fun with the theme. She showed petrified-wood prints, as well as leather leggings with moss-inspired embroidery that crept up the legs. The standout piece was a spotted “Bambi”-printed peacoat with leather sleeves, which hit on the nature idea in a wearable way. She says: “I was thinking of a city girl who wandered into the woods and was consumed with its magic.” Where to Find It: ADEAM has two stand-alone boutiques in Tokyo. —Brittany Adams
