What does Asynchronous mean?
CBU’s asynchronous class format means our online programs provide the maximum amount of flexibility for a minimum amount of interruption to your busy schedule. Additionally, the 8-week format means you can complete your degree twice as fast as a traditional semester schedule.

Faculty Spotlight
Dr. Robert Rose Assistant Professor, History and Government
Dr. Robert Rose served as a law enforcement officer for nearly thirty years with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. He started his career in corrections, transferred to patrol, worked a variety of special assignments pertaining to gangs and narcotics, supervised numerous patrol and special teams and retired as a lieutenant after holding several patrol and administrative assignments. During his tenure, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California Baptist University, and a Doctoral degree in Public Administration from the University of La Verne.
Dr. Rose pursued specialized training throughout his career, including advanced investigative courses on homicide, domestic violence, narcotics, child abuse, hate crimes, fraud, gangs, driving under the influence, critical incident management, and leadership. He also attended Harvard University’s executive development course on collaborative governance in order to become better equipped to facilitate multi-agency efforts to solve complex public problems.
Dr. Rose has taught numerous courses at California Baptist University over the past fifteen years, and deeply believes in student-centered learning and servant leadership. He has helped students identify and realize their potential as leaders in their field and has provided effective tools for reasoning and decision making.
Admissions Requirements
Application for admission with a $45 application fee.
Official transcript from an accredited college or university reflecting the completion of a baccalaureate degree.
2.75 or last 60/90 unit GPA. Additional opportunities may be available for a student to overcome an unsatisfactory GPA.
Written statement of purpose OR in-person/virtual program interview (student’s choice). Written statement (500-word maximum) or interview will address:
• What are your educational goals?
• How will this program help meet those goals?
• What makes you a good fit for CBU?
