Alumni Highlight
Lenard Verde Class of 2020
Lenard is the president of Advance IT Corp. based in Fullerton, CA. The company provides IT support services for PCs and networks and Microsoft 365 consulting services for medium and large businesses.
“I’ve been involved in IT since I was a junior in high school working for a Riverside computer company. I decided to go out on my own in 1999. While running the business, I completed my bachelor’s degree at CSUSB in information management in 2001. In 2019, I decided to pursue ITM at CBU because it was not an online program, it was close to home and I was growing my business beyond supporting small businesses.
The program at CBU empowered me to look at IT management in a more strategic fashion rather than ad hoc or reactionary. It gave me the confidence to pursue larger accounts and proved to my clients that I have the knowledge and experience to handle their IT properly.
The advice I would give someone looking into this program is to get experience first in the IT field, in any capacity, before entering the
program. Having the experience allows you to have foundational awareness to apply in your study and expand your knowledge and apply it as you are going through the program.”
