Create Focal Points for a Fabulous Interior

Every room needs an element that boasts that WOW factor – whether simply for day-today living or when prepping your home for potential buyers. Establishing or highlighting a focal point is a critical décor strategy. Not only does it attract the eye to a specific area, it also works double duty by drawing attention away from any less attractive features, allowing you to place emphasis wherever you choose.

View A breathtaking vista is the obvious star of the show in some homes. Arrange the furniture to take advantage of the view and make the very most of it. It’s an ever-evolving panorama that transforms from morning until night. still needs some oomph, consider aiming a spotlight on it for that little something extra.

Collection Grouping items – whether we’re talking baskets, photos, vases or plants – produces not only an attractive aspect to a space, but also an ideal conversation piece. They can either be united by a color theme or mesh together in varying complementary textures and materials.

Architecture Structural details of a space, such as a gracefully shaped window, wooden joists or even a staircase are built-in focal points that can be accented in creative ways. Generate dramatic contrast with light versus dark by painting beams in a rich brown shade against a stark white ceiling, for example.
