While that coveted prize went to Santa Ana, Tustin enjoyed renewed growth in the land boom of the 1880s. The city’s nickname, The City of the Trees, refers to that period, when it was fragrant with expansive orchards of apricots and walnuts, and later, Valencia oranges. Incorporated in 1927, Tustin has one of the oldest “old towns” in Orange County. In addition to Main Street’s grand historic homes and commercial storefronts, Tustin today offers a wide array of handsome residences and fl ourishing amenities, including easy access to South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island and Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The latter, not surprisingly, means that Tustin’s population includes a large number of Major League Baseball players and their families.
