The Holy Communion
Offerings of alms and bread and wine are received.
At the Offertory
Anthem Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872–1958)
O clap your hands, all ye people; Shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the Lord most high is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth. God is gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises unto our King, For God is the King of all the earth; Sing ye praises, everyone that hath understanding. God reigneth over the heathen, God sitteth upon the throne of His holiness.
— Psalm 47:1–2, 5–8

The Breaking of the Bread
Celebrant Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us; People Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia.
The sacrament of Holy Communion has been precious to Christians for 2,000 years. It is a way in which many sense the reality of God’s forgiveness, our union with God and each other, and the eternal life to which we belong. Please know that you do not have to be an Episcopalian to receive Communion. To receive, you may kneel or stand at the altar rail. Receive the Bread in the palm of your hand and the Wine either by drinking from the cup or by intinction, touching the Bread to the Wine. Gluten-free Bread is available; simply ask at the altar rail. If you need Communion brought to you in the pew, please tell an usher.
